The Boys Spinoff: An Other New Chapter for the Universe
Jeffrey Dean Morgan has expressed his thoughts on taking the stage in a possible The Boys Spinoff. More shows set in the universe of the irreverent superhero series are quite feasible. Apart from the renewed season 5 of The Boys, the series has already produced spin-offs like the animated anthology Diabolical, the college-set Gen V (which has already been renewed for season 2), and an upcoming series set in Mexico. In season 4, which debuted on Prime Video on June 13, Morgan joins the flagship show as CIA officer Joe Kessler.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan posted a screen grab from a Deadline interview with The Boys producer Eric Kripke on X where he notes he would be thrilled to explore a Spinoff on Kessler. Look at it below: "Ha!! Kripke!!," Morgan writes in his post, which Kripke subsequently shared on his own page. You do play with my emotions, though! You are aware of my in-depth Let me sign the hell up. (looking at schedule right now!) " Morgan reiterated once more in response to different comments on his article that he would very gladly empty his calendar to work with Kripke once more.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan Has Already Demonstrated His Ability to Run a Spinoff
A new The Boys spinoff most certainly wouldn't premiere until the show finishes with its forthcoming season 5. Morgan has already shown, though, his determination to follow a television property right through to the very end and beyond. With his performance in the Walking Dead series, in which he portrayed Negan, the brutal and ruthless leader of a group known as the Saviors who executed one of the show's grisliest and most shocking murders, so cleansing the flagship series of one of its primary characters.
Morgan wasn't part of The Walking Dead from the start, much like with his delayed joining into the Boys cast. He originally showed up in season 6, then joined the main cast in season 7 and kept front stage until the show closed with season 11. Following that, he reconnected with his co-star Lauren Cohan for the Manhattan-set spinoff The Walking Dead: Dead City, which was revived for season 2 just one month following its premiere on AMC. After the flagship series ended, Dead City was the first Walking Dead spinoff to show on television; followed by Daryl Dixon and The Ones Who Live. He has set himself up as the ideal star for a The Boys spinoff given his apparent desire to commit to brands as long as they will have him. Morgan seems committed to making it happen, even if his dedication to Dead City season 2 would complicate his availability for season 5 or a Kessler offshoot. Though it remains to be seen whether anything comes to pass, the fact that Kripke and Morgan have already made public comments on the prospect could help drive the project toward production.
