Thieriot and Padalecki are super close friends – despite never having worked together before. Napolitano wasn’t far behind; sharing how excited everyone was; and completely emphasizes just why it made this selection really straightforward. She had been a massive Padalecki fan since Gilmore Girls. "He was a name that everyone was just immediately very excited about, and then it's definitely Max and Jared are friends," she said. “So Max is saying ‘He's a great guy. I'm so excited about this.’ We sat down with him, and, you know, it was just the chemistry. We were so excited to get him over here,” she elaborated; further emphasizing those personal elements between these actors.

"He's also a really nice guy, like, just a professional sweetheart, so good, so talented, and he and Max, their chemistry as friends working together and on-screen was just off the charts. So we got very lucky. I was also a huge fan of his all the way back to Gilmore Girls. So it just felt like iconic TV opportunities," Napolitano adds. "This was written for Jared. So, if Jared didn't come play with us, we were gonna get our hearts broken,” which is seriously compelling evidence from her own mouth that this entire role, that script, was indeed written exactly with Jared in mind. That really elevates the situation from a normal cast decision into a well-thought out storyline with an actor deliberately targeted because of those specific elements which contributed to the storyline!

Camden’s Arrival: A Shakeup for Fire Country?

Expect Camden to bring a unique energy; the laid-back and fun personality of Camden – a Southern California firefighter–– contrasts with the existing crew, potentially creating conflict; especially with those more serious personalities!   His impact’s still a mystery; a potential Tracker crossover, a post-Supernatural reunion with Jensen Ackles, is already being speculated on.  A possible sequel event from Supernatural would certainly get a ton of attention, creating great intrigue!

Rumors abound. This role could just be the start and could evolve further! There’s serious potential for a Padalecki-led Fire Country spin-off after season 3. This might happen even faster considering that Padalecki has some free time after Walker's cancellation.
