The Wild Robot 2 Confirmed! DreamWorks Sequel Announced

Get ready for more adventures with the robots! DreamWorks has confirmed that The Wild Robot 2 is officially in the works!

The Wild Robot: A Smash Hit

Just a couple of weeks after The Wild Robot premiered worldwide in theaters, it became a big hit, getting a 98% rating from critics and a perfect match from audiences, scoring a Certified Fresh and Verified Hot rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The film grossed over $100 million, quickly confirming its box office success! The movie, from DreamWorks, follows Roz (voiced by Lupita Nyong'o), a robot who is stranded in the wilderness of an island. She goes on to form a special connection with Brightbill (voiced by Kit Connor), an orphaned gosling.

Sequel Confirmed!

The director of this film, Chris Sanders (also behind the How to Train Your Dragon franchise), spilled the news during a Deadline Contenders event, announcing that "100% yes" that there is a sequel in development. He stopped short of adding many additional details, but it appears The Wild Robot 2 is just in the beginning stages of its development cycle! For anyone who hasn't caught it yet, now is a great time to jump in and be able to follow Roz and Brightbill on their awesome journey through this incredible film!

What's Next for The Wild Robot?

What will happen in this brand new adventure for Roz and Brightbill? While the story is not quite out there, there’s a pretty solid history for DreamWorks, including its past success with well-loved animated titles, meaning the studio might very well continue the work. Although not many of the specifics have yet to be released, fans have reasons to remain incredibly excited to discover just what’s in store for this incredible robot!

The Wild Robot's Cast

What really gave this film such an emotional touch was the talent on screen! Lupita Nyong'o is known for amazing parts including those iconic scenes in Black Panther but brought an impressive tenderness for those watching.

Pedro Pascal gave his impressive talents! Fans might recognize him for The Mandalorian, The Last of Us and several of the bigger, well-loved movies of the year.

Catherine O'Hara provided additional talents. If you didn't catch her amazing talents, she plays some awesome roles in several Chris Columbus' projects.

With a cast of such talent, The Wild Robot brought something incredibly heartwarming and this special movie has even more potential to touch people's hearts.

The success may leave some excited to see what other talents may be working on the next edition of The Wild Robot 2!
