The USS Enterprise Crew Gets Together! A "Strange New Worlds" Reunion for the Ages!
Get ready Trekkies, because the "Strange New Worlds" crew got together in Vegas, and it was totally epic! STLV, aka "Trek to Vegas," saw all the main stars of the show come together for a reunion that made history. And trust me, it was a lot more exciting than that time you waited in line for 3 hours for a Spock cookie! This was a first! The full crew has never been together at a convention before!
Since the cast is a bit on the larger side, "Strange New Worlds" was split into two separate panels. In one we had Christina Chong, Dan Jeannotte, Melissa Navia, Bruce Horak, Jess Bush, and Babs Olusanmokun. The other panel included the big guns: Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn, Ethan Peck, Celia Rose Gooding, and Melanie Scrofano. But it was during the break between the panels that we got our full "Strange New Worlds" dose of excitement.
Dancing and Crossovers: The STLV "Strange New Worlds" Panel Had It All
Hold onto your tribbles because Carol Kane was at the convention. But even more impressive than that was the fact it was her first ever convention, of any kind! And let's be honest, we were all wondering if she'd get the opportunity to bust out some moves! Spoiler alert: she totally did! And it wasn't just the classic "Laverne & Shirley" moves; she totally went in on a little "dancing" with Celia Rose Gooding, Christina Chong, and Dan Jeannotte! Now, how many conventions can boast an impromptu musical moment featuring Carol Kane and Celia Rose Gooding?!
Even the other Star Trek franchises got in on the action! Who knew Jerry O'Connell, better known as the husband of Rebecca Romijn, was a bit of a party crasher? We sure didn't see THAT coming! He totally came in on his wife's panel and, of course, was able to stir up some laughter among the attendees.
Musical Episode Gets Some Hype, but What About Kirk?
If you're worried about missing out on the action at STLV, fret not. While most of the cast had a blast in Vegas, they will also be hitting up other conventions, like Dallas, Nashville, and San Francisco! Oh, and let's not forget to mention all the "Strange New Worlds" updates they're bringing! It looks like that super mysterious musical episode will make it into Season 3 and all the behind-the-scenes information shared about that had everyone super hyped! Get your ears ready Trekkies!
You might be asking yourself where our beloved Jim Kirk (played by Paul Wesley) was in the midst of all this shenanigans? Well, he was in Vegas for a solo panel on the Thursday before the big event. Sadly, Paul's gotta chase some adventures around the world (a little thing called the Olympics) so he had to split for Paris just before the main "Strange New Worlds" festivities kicked off.
All About the "Strange New Worlds" Season 3 Premiere and a Bit More
While everyone was dancing in the aisles and chatting about the musical episode, there were also a lot of questions being tossed around about what to expect in Season 3! Of course, everyone wants to know when they'll be able to dive into the next adventures of the Starship Enterprise crew. Lucky for us, we have confirmation: Season 3 premieres on Paramount+ in 2025!
Speaking of "Strange New Worlds," a few of the actors got super philosophical during their time in Vegas, answering fan questions about the "Vulcanization" aspect of the show. And let's be honest, some of the answers may have made some attendees feel more Vulcan-like! What else can you expect from a show that pushes the boundaries of a show known for its super serious approach?
