Lovestruck: More WooHoo, More Death!
The Sims 4: Lovestruck dropped on July 25, 2024 and it brought the romance to a whole new level. After the whole “Season of Love” thing that included the Riviera Retreat and Cozy Bistro, Lovestruck brought back those Turn On/Turn Offs from The Sims 2 to figure out which Sims are super into each other. And if you thought it would just be more woohoo, guess again. They threw in some new ways to kick the bucket too!
We’re not talking “Death By Woohoo”, although that would be a hilarious and slightly disturbing thing to see. Nope, this expansion pack has got Sims choked to death on chocolates and dying of broken hearts. Yep, love is a real killer. So put on your dating game face, ‘cause we’re about to dive deep into this whole romantic rollercoaster of a Sims experience.
Sims Are Always Down to Woohoo
So yeah, WooHoo. They’ve added some new spots for your Sims to get down and dirty, from cozy blankets to motel rooms. The “Romance Blanket” is a sneaky little multi-tasker. It's a blanket, a rug, and your Sim's new love nest. It’s totally weird to watch them wiggle around in that blanket burrito situation, but it's also hilarious.
Ciudad Enamorada is a new location filled with possibilities. If a Sims is into the motel scene, “Beso Rápido” is their happy place. There's the standard Woohoo-in-the-closet option too, but with all kinds of new places like nightclubs, gyms, and lounges. The vibromatic Nuevo, is an upgrade on the ol’ vibromatic heart bed from back in the day. Get your Sims all steamed up and ready to make a love connection!
Dating In The Sims Has Never Been So Complex
Setting up a romantic date is serious business now. You gotta pick activities with your partner and hit some social goals. So get ready to brainstorm creative dates – maybe a romantic picnic followed by some star gazing and lots of cuddles before going full on WooHoo. It's complicated and kind of awesome!
Oh Yeah, Love is Dangerous
The big thing in this pack is, “Death by Broken Heart” and "Death By Choking" – yeah, The Sims choked to death while extremely sad. Choking while sad. Sounds oddly specific. Death by broken heart though is a much bigger issue in this pack since Sim-hearts can't handle heartbreak for too long. That sad feeling can bring them to the edge. Imagine all the drama. Your sim might go from “loved up” to "I’m going to end it all." But if you watch their romantic life closely and manage their relationships carefully, death is avoidable. You might be a Sims doctor of love, after all!
The Verdict
The Sims 4: Lovestruck adds some interesting layers to relationships, though the death additions could’ve fit into the regular game. It feels like the extra depth in these romantic features might've been better as a Game Pack than a full Expansion pack. This definitely opens a lot of creative possibilities for those who are completely hooked on the romance aspects of the game.
