Madden NFL 25: Standard vs Deluxe Editions & Pre-order Bonuses Explained

Differences & Preordinance Bonuses for Madden NFL 25 Edition

EA Sports is providing several versions of the game together with some pre-order bonuses while Madden NFL 25 is about to premiere. Although both the Standard and Deluxe Edition of Madden Nfl 25 feature pre-order bonuses, the Deluxe Edition comes with a few more. Though they aren't so significant that fans will feel they are compelled to acquire the Deluxe Edition to maximize Madden NFL 25, there are also minor variances in what players get from the base game of each.

Difference in Madden NFL 25 Standard and Deluxe Edition

Unlike other games with Deluxe Editions, the two versions of Madden NFL 25 differ not much from one other. The Deluxe Edition does not have a season pass or significant DLC. Rather, it differs from the Standard Edition only with two minor adjustments. The first of those is that the Deluxe Edition comes with 4600 Madden Points, the in-game money used for Madden's Ultimate Team Mode.

The Madd Deluxe Edition runs $99.99, $30 more than the Standard Edition. Since there aren't any significant additions to the game's content, the in-game money players acquire seems to mostly justify the cost. Players in Madden NFL 24 could buy 5,850 Madden Points for fifty bucks. Should the exchange rate remain the same, players get 4600 for $30, a deal on points. That said, Madden Points are mostly used for Ultimate Team Mode, thus anyone who doesn’s not play that mode can skip the Deluxe Edition, save money, and not miss much.

The Deluxe Edition's great concentration on Ultimate Team helps players to simply purchase the less expensive choice should they not play that particular game mode. From some games that paywall a lot of vital content inside a Deluxe Edition's DLC, this is a welcome variation of pace. Purchasers of the Standard Edition can always try out Ultimate Team mode and then make decisions on what they wish to spend their money on after playing it.

Early Access is the one main variation between the two Madden Nfl 25 editions not related to Ultimate Team Mode. Instead of the official release date August 16, 2024, players who buy the Deluxe Edition of the game will be able to start playing August 13, 2024. This function seems to be rather popular even if the trend of players paying a premium to play a game early raises some questions.

Early access for College Football 25 had the same model as Madden NFL 25, and 2.2 million distinct users were playing the game. Although some of this could be explained by the buzz around it being the first college football game in a decade, it still seems like a sizable portion of players are not bothered about paying early access. Therefore, even if Madden does not perform the same numbers, some of the players who already intended to purchase the game will probably be delighted to pay additional for the Deluxe Edition.

Pre-Order Bonuses for Madd NFL 25

Pre-ordering Madden NFL 25 will award players some in-game bonuses. Though the Deluxe Edition gets a few additional bonus items, many of these pre-order bonuses are the same for both editions of the game. Though there is some more variation here, the pre-order bonuses are also mostly focused on Ultimate Team mode, thus once more, these aren't must-haves for players who don't usually play it.

Either edition of Madden NFL 25 pre-orders will provide players with a Christian McCaffrey Elite Player Item to use to upgrade the cover athlete in Ultimate Team mode. Additionally for Ultimate Team mode, players will acquire two Strategy Items of their choosing. In Superstar mode, there are also a few pre-order bonuses including Legendary XP Boost to enable head start on leveling up and golden jersey players can put on their custom avatar.

Apart from the above mentioned products, pre-ordering the Deluxe Edition comes with three days of Early Access, as said before. Fascinatingly, EA also shows on their website the 4600 Madden Points as a pre-order bonus. Since the Deluxe Edition is regarded as a pre-order bonus, it is unclear whether players won't be able to buy it after launch or if doing so would not provide in-game currency. Before buying the Deluxe Edition, players should make sure they will get their Madden Points; else, there is no use paying the extra $30.

Additionally receiving an AKA Player Item for Ultimate Team mode are players who pre-order the Deluxe Edition of Madden NFL 25 before August 1, 2024. This is a different rendition of players using their nickname and including different artwork. Since EA does not mention a player on their pre-order reward list, the AKA item seems to be random unlike the Christian McCaffrey item.

MVP Bundle for Madd NFL 25

If players also wish a copy of College Football 25's Deluxe Edition, there is another way they can purchase the Madd NFL 25 Deluxe Edition. For $149.99 players can purchase both games combined. For gamers seeking both $99.99 Deluxe Editions, this is a deal. These versions are only worth it, though, if players intend to use Ultimate Team mode. About $10 less than the bundle, players who do not need in-game currency can purchase Standard Editions of the game for $69.99.

Having said that, if players want both games and are even slightly intrigued about Ultimate Team mode and can afford an additional $10, it could be wise to grab the bundle. Ultimately, if they do, they will be earning a sizable in-game currency for both games for just $10. It obviously appeals to some players since it seems doubtful Ea Sports would continue including Ultimate Team mode without its supporters.
