Forecasting Romulus After Many Character Death Teases in Alien
The Alien: Romulus trailers already make hints about several possible deaths; these characters might be next on the chopping board. Alien: Romulus will feature a lot of character deaths, thus here are some speculations for which of the characters make sense for the movie alive. With very few characters meeting a Xenomorph and seeing the light of day once more over the series, the Alien films are famously lethal. But several of the Alien: Romulus cast members allegedly dying in the several trailers and other pieces of marketing material seem to have already sealed ahead of the release of the film.
Romulus's Story and Timeline: Alien
Alien: Romulus is set to feature an all-new cast of characters, with Cailee Spaeny's Rain Carradine leading from Sigourney Weaver's Ellen Ripley as the protagonist of the cherished sci-fi horror series. The trailers barely hint at anything about the plot of Alien: Romulus; all that is known is that the movie falls between Alien and Aliens. Bad news for these characters since the teaser suggests Alien: Romulus will bring back the horror and violence of the original film, instead of slinking into the mythology of the franchise.
Alien: Three Character Deaths Confirmed Already by Romulus' Trailers
Three characters have basically been confirmed to die in the movie across the trailers and TV commercials for Alien: Romulus. Aileen Wu's Navarro, a character who has been largely highlighted throughout Alien: Romulus' marketing, is the first and most clear of these. The trailers feature scenes of her being attacked by a Facehugger, of a Chestburster breaking out of her, and of another character carrying her bloodied body. This will thus probably be one of Alien: Romulus's early murders, thus Navarro won't be around for very long.
Sadly, Navarro is not the only one Alien: Romulus is getting ready to wipe off counts. With Spike Fearn attacked by Facehuggers in one clip and stabbed by an alien spike in another, the trailer also depicts his Bjorn entering some lethal circumstances. Though the Alien: Romulus trailers make it seem improbable, he could survive these events. David Jonsson's Andy also has white eyes in one clip, thus given he is playing one of Alien's synthetics in Alien: Romulus, this could indicate that his Android body is shutting down.
Which Characters in Alien Are Also Probably Dead? Roman Republic
Though only three characters have thus apparently been confirmed to die in the trailers thus far, it is dubious that they will be the only ones. Alien: Romulus has promised to be among the worst Movies in the franchise, according to director Fede Álvarez, who said specifically "There's a lot of death in this movie." The remaining Alien: Romulus characters most certainly aren't safe since most of the films in the series end in killing off the great majority of their casts. The film aims to keep some deaths surprising after all.
Apart from the main character and the three already mentioned characters, the rest of the Alien: Romulus cast comprises of Kay by Isabela Merced and Tyler by Archie Renaux. Though the Alien: Romulus characters surely wouldn't spoil every death, it seems likely that these two are on the chopping block. The trailers have not revealed any information regarding the fates of these characters just yet.
These Characters Will Be Alien: Romulus's Only Survivors
Like the Alien franchise, Cailee Spaeny's Rain Carradine seems most likely to be one of the only survivors of the movie. This has been the case with Sigourney Weaver's Ripley in past Movies; since Cailee Spaeny's character seems to be following in her franchise footsteps, it would make logical for her to survive until the very last.
Though this is yet unproven, it has also been hypothesised that Alien: Romulus features some surprise elements. It is impossible to forecast who will die since the status and narrative of these surprise characters are yet unknown. If this theory proves accurate, though, it would only make logical for some of these characters to coexist with Rain Carradine. Though there is great possibility for more characters, until Alien: Romulus opens theatres, it will be difficult to know for sure.
