The son of Leonard Nimoy, Adam Nimoy expresses his opinions on how Ethan Peck and Zachary Quinto represent Spock in contemporary Star Trek. Of course, Leonard Nimoy started the Mr. Spock part in *Star Trek: The Original Series* and acted the venerable Vulcan on television and movies until his death in 2015. While Ethan Peck presently plays Lt. Spock on *Star Trek: Strange New Worlds*, Zachary Quinto portrayed Spock in a *Star Trek* movie trilogy directed and produced by J.J. Abrams.
In an interview with CinemaBlend to support his new book, *The Most Human: Reconciling with My Father, Leonard Nimoy* Adam Nimoy was asked his opinions on Ethan Peck's portrayal of Spock on *Star Trek: Strange New Worlds*. Ethan also wrote a promotional blurb for Adam's book; Peck's rendition of Spock is the younger version of Nimoy's Spock. The 2009 J.J. Abrams *Star Trek* movie reboot established that younger performers could effectively reinterpret the venerable original *Star Trek* stars. Regarding Spock, Zachary Quinto had to perform alongside Leonard Nimoy personally when the two Spokesons crossed paths on the movie in addition to representing the younger version of the Vulcan. The twist of J.J. Abrams' *Star Trek* films is that time travel produced an other Kelvin timeline, thus Quinto's young Spock spends his life in a new reality distinct from the prior events of Nimoy's aging Ambassador Spock.
Leonard Nimoy's last portrayal as Spock was a cameo in *Star Trek Into Darkness* from 2013. Though set in Star Trek's Prime timeline and a follow-up to *Star Trek: The Original Series*, *Star Trek: Strange New Worlds* is not For Ethan Peck, his Lt. Spock is the younger form of Leonard Nimoy's Spock. Peck is playing the same character that would finally develop to be the Vulcan Nimoy started, and he notes that Nimoy is always in his brain while he plays Spock. Ethan Peck is the Prime Spock in *Star Trek: Strange New Worlds*, while viewers anticipate Zachary Quinto will return as the Kelvin timeline's Spock in another *Star Trek* film now Leonard Nimoy has died away.

I enjoy the work he is producing. He lends his own sensibility to it. Though it's different, I find it to be rather acceptable. What he is doing is fantastic. I truly respect him and, look, assuming a role like that is rather difficult. That is so buried in our minds as pop culture addicts, in terms of the original Spock. Zachary Quinto lends his own perspective to the part he is playing; he had the same forces to cope with when he first started. You naturally lend the part your own personality. And you know, it's unique, fresh, a permutation.
Adam Nimoy also said CinemaBlend he believes Ethan Peck's Spock's performance is not a "imitation" of Leonard Nimoy, hence seeing his performance is not the correct perspective. Check Adam's quotation below:
Not. It's not quite a copy, in my opinion either. Zach and Ethan [Peck] have pure artistry, which I believe to be derived from their investment of their own experience and being into the part. I so enjoy what those men were doing.
For next generations of admirers, Leonard Nimoy's Spock still inspires them. Despite several interpretations of the character, Spock remains among the most adored character in the *Star Trek* universe. It is abundantly clear how he affected *Star Trek*.
