There have been whispers of the show going into production super early! In January 2025. The buzz has certainly grown on social media and lots of fans who pay close attention to news about the Hunger Games had been anticipating things.

Producer Nina Jacobson took to X to set the record straight!

The movie will come out after the new book which comes out on March 18, 2025.
That also means it will likely begin production after the release as well!

That also clarifies a major detail about "Sunrise on the Reaping."

Release Date And Production

It seems this movie was never going to go into production quickly! It had an intended Release Date of November 20, 2026.

Considering these delays, there is still plenty of time to bring the Movie to fans but that will probably depend on how far along things have gone!

The last prequel film, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes came out November 17, 2023 and went into production July 11, 2022 finishing by November 5, 2022. This production window looks pretty likely given that there was an eight-month window before the release.

So to keep expectations in check for anyone who is really looking for answers for when Sunrise on the Reaping is going to come out! What makes it special, is there is a possibility the prequel's production will begin as soon as mid-summer 2025.
