It's finally happening! Daredevil is back in a new show, and Marvel just dropped the first footage from "Daredevil: Born Again," making the entire fan world completely lose their minds! D23 Expo 2024, Marvel showed fans their newest take on the iconic hero, featuring our favorites - Matt Murdock and Kingpin - and making a huge, nostalgic return to that dark, grimy "Daredevil" vibe.
The good news for us is, the wait isn't that long now. This exciting new "Born Again" show will be streaming on Disney+ as a whole, and it looks as if we'll have a ton of content – seriously a lot of episodes to watch. Plus, the footage that just came out, yeah, it is super-exciting! Marvel isn't leaving any spoilers for us, so we have no idea exactly how the show is going to go! All we can do now is guess, which is honestly making things extra-hyped right now.
That "Born Again" teaser, was insane. There was Matt Murdock running through the city subway. Kingpin’s got some seriously awesome, cool art in his penthouse (you gotta love Kingpin’s taste). We even get to see Matt, his eyes burning with fire, promising that justice is coming. He even throws out a classic superhero line about peace being "broken". This time though, he might be using it with a side of chaos? We even got to see our boy Frank Castle – that’s the Punisher to you, and he looks like he’s on his own vendetta with Daredevil.
It’s not a big shock to see the "Born Again" series is taking a more hardcore, dark approach. We see a whole new look at Matt, who’s grappling with this "dark half," while Kingpin is the ultimate master of manipulation. There’s the moment with the Kingpin looking out over New York - that makes it clear this series will bring a very unique brand of justice to the screen. Honestly, Marvel is showing its pulling out all the big guns to make "Born Again" into the Daredevil adventure we’ve all been waiting for.
Now that we've seen the trailer, and with rumors buzzing about a "Spider-Man: No Way Home" link, everybody is brainstorming on what "Daredevil: Born Again" will really look like. There's been a lot of hype and debate about who is showing up and how Marvel is connecting things! I can’t tell you how excited I am for a possible Daredevil, Kingpin, and Punisher dynamic. We can also look for a possible, yet highly debated connection with Ms. Marvel (and, yes, maybe a whole new angle for Daredevil with his superhero law career.)
There's so much to look forward to when "Born Again" premieres! And the most important question is - how will the story link with the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Honestly, with how big the MCU is, you've got to wonder, if there’s going to be more than a few references thrown in. If this does happen, and I know everyone wants it! Let’s hope this makes sense because the potential for this new show to become an even more intense and twisted world than it already was? It’s huge, like really huge.
One of the things fans want the most? Seeing the show include the characters that people love the most. From what we know so far - it's going to feature all the best – Kingpin, a comeback with the Punisher, a cameo with White Tiger, and even a small, very cute scene with Kamala Khan’s father! What is that guy's role in all this? There's a ton of mystery but Marvel seems to be giving the best characters we know some real time to shine!
While there have been a lot of whispers about characters like Elektra, Bullseye, and Foggy and Karen from the older "Daredevil" shows, nothing is concrete yet! Marvel likes to play things close to the chest and there’s not much else to reveal at this point – which kind of drives us all mad! Will there be callbacks? Will characters be new and different? The world of "Daredevil" has a ton of potential with new actors and characters Marvel could incorporate for this whole “Born Again” feel! The anticipation for what comes next is already electric, which just might become even more intense when the series premieres.
For Daredevil fans, "Born Again" could change everything - and could even turn the world of "Daredevil" completely on its head! It’s clear that Marvel is making sure that it brings the very best aspects of Daredevil's character - the action, the lawyering, and the internal struggle of good vs. evil, to make "Born Again" as dynamic and visually appealing as it can. This means it’ll make for a serious visual and auditory experience for anyone who tunes in!
And of course, everyone is wondering about "Daredevil: Born Again’s" soundtrack - because music has always played a massive role in Daredevil's world. Will it be a mix of classic tracks that give us the "Daredevil" vibe? Or, will it be totally new stuff that might even set new trends? Whatever Marvel's planning, they have all these ingredients for an amazing TV series that is truly worth the wait!
