As an actor, Taylor Swift has not had a great Box Office Track Record.
Swift's star has been brilliantly glowing since her musical debut, but it really erupted in 2023. With her Eras Tour, the performer packed out venues all across and topped streaming charts with her *Midnights* album. With millions of Swifties showing venues and generating $267.1 million globally, her concert film, *Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour*, With her eleventh studio album, *The Tortured Poets Department*, she keeps her worldwide supremacy in 2024 breaking streaming records.
For her acting career, Swift's great star power hasn't turned into box-office gold, though. Though it's difficult to say that viewers went to watch those films for Swift, especially considering how early in her career she was, her early roles—Valentine's Day and *The Lorax* were successes. Her past two movies, *Cats* and *Amsterdam*, were Box Office disappointments as well as critical bombs. On an estimated $95 million budget, *Cats* grossed $75.5 million; *Amsterdam* made $31.2 million on an 80 million budget. Though they didn't have Swift as the main lead in either movie, she nevertheless starred in their marketing efforts.
Not Worry, *Deadpool & Wolverine* Not Need Taylor Swift To Hit $1 Billion
Disappointingly, Taylor Swift will not show up in *Deadpool & Wolverine*, but the forthcoming MCU film does not need the pop singer for box office success. For a few years, rumors have floated about Swift making an appearance in *Deadpool & Wolverine*. According to the hypothesis, Swift would perform as Dazzler, a pop star mutant with some comic book similarities to the "Fortnight" singer. Once Swift was spotted in the same suite as Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and director Shawn Levy during an NFL game, the rumors got more intense.
The marketing team of *Deadpool & Wolverine* might have purposefully mixed the pot with posters highlighting friendship bracelets and a recent teaser including what looks to be a glimpse of Lady Deadpool. Regretfully for Swifties, a recent EW analysis refuted this idea stating Swift will not show up in the film. Although many cameos in superhero movies have been refuted only to be accurate upon movie release, viewers will have to wait and see. Luckily, *Deadpool & Wolverine* doesn't require Swift to be a Box Office smash.
Deadpool & Wolverine: Enough Draw To Hit $1 Billion
Whether Swift is in it or not, *Deadpool & Wolverine* is much anticipated and most certainly a box office hit. Many had waited a long time to see Reynolds return for a third outing, so the pre-sale tickets are already selling fast. Jackman is also returning from retirement to reinterpret Wolverine once more, and his team-up with Deadpool will generate comic gold. Should the buzz around the movie fall short, the two mutants have great box office performance.
With *Deadpool* generating $782.6 million worldwide and *Deadpool 2* grossing $785.8 million, the first two *Deadpool* flicks together brought in over $1 billion. Jackman's Wolverine has been the face of the *X-Men* series for more than 20 years; his last appearance, *Logan*, garnered $619.2 million at the box office. *Deadpool & Wolverine* is a formula for a $1 billion outcome given the increasing trajectory in *Deadpool*'s box office, Wolverine's reputation, and the idea of these characters entering the MCU.
