Playing CIA operative Jasper Briggs, Shea Whigham reveals a major moment between his character and Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt for next Mission: Impossible 8. He assured supporters they would be "floored" and the scene would be "amazing."
Whigham recently concluded production for Mission: Impossible 8 and mentioned asking writer/director Christopher McQuarrie for a one-on-one scene between himself and Cruise. McQuarrie delivered, and filming started. Cruise got Whigham out for supper following scene filming. The two next discussed the franchise's future.

Although Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning got mostly good reviews, film fell short at the box office. Originally slated as Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning (Part 2), the title of the next eighth film has been changed. As yet no new title has been disclosed. The narrative of the upcoming movie will follow Hunt as he keeps battling the demonic artificial intelligence referred to as The Entity.
Made on a $291 million budget, Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning brought in $567.5 million globally. For Hunt and his squad, the sequel seems to be yet another world-trotting adventure. Filming has taken place in the Adriatic Sea, South Africa, the Arctic, and all throughout the United Kingdom.

Recently under interview by THR, Whigham discussed filming for Mission: Impossible 8. He claimed to have urged McQuarrie for a striking scenario between his character and Ethan Hunt by Tom Cruise.
"I told Christopher McQuarrie on [Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning]: 'I don't want a bigger trailer.'" More money is not what I want. Better catering is not what I want. One scene between Tom and me, where you, McQ, write it like The Usual Suspects, would be great for us to get in there. He also delivered, Whigham remarked.
