Has The Mandalorian Undone its Own Story?
It’s true! While The Mandalorian is a huge Star Wars TV show that has captured hearts, there are actually some major story choices that may make you think it’s kind of a mess! They’ve got a great cast - everyone loves Din Djarin and Grogu! Fans even call Grogu, “Baby Yoda,” because he's super cute, but there are some weird decisions with how the show unfolds.
Wait - So The Razor Crest is Back?
Yep! They destroyed it in Season 2! But it returns in the new movie The Mandalorian & Grogu, which will come out after Season 3! Fans loved the Razor Crest and seeing how Din Djarin had repaired it over the years in Season 1, so this felt like a really important moment - until they had it come back in the new movie! It's going to be interesting to see how that unfolds! It’s hard to have the Razor Crest come back as a major part of the story - when they made such a big deal about its loss. They made it feel symbolic and final, so the return really throws things off.
The Book of Boba Fett: Does It Have the Same Energy?
- The Book of Boba Fett, you say? It wasn't exactly what fans were expecting, but there are some details to watch out for!
- It wasn't bad, but they actually started changing up those key things they did in Season 2.
What about those Jedi training details?
It makes a lot of sense to want Grogu back with the Jedi and to try to teach him more. But after all of those cool scenes in The Book of Boba Fett and the ending of The Mandalorian Season 2, that totally got tossed out! In those final seasons, Din and Grogu's goodbye was so sad and so emotional, it made sense for the Jedi training to continue in those earlier episodes!
- We thought that would continue on into Season 3 and those live-action Star Wars stories but things took a sharp turn in Season 3 when Din and Grogu ended up right back where they began!
- We're definitely in for some bumpy rides in this whole saga.
Should Din be going back to Bounty Hunting?
- Fans felt like Din was starting to do something different than being a bounty hunter after all he had done with Grogu.
- But then, with Season 3, he's back to being a bounty hunter, again. It's interesting. It feels like The Mandalorian went back to square one with those bounty hunting scenes in Season 3 and brought him back to being what they made seem so meaningless!
- It's an interesting change, and there is definitely something to be said about how important his character is to the whole Star Wars universe, as a bounty hunter, who has taken it upon himself to become Grogu's father!
There’s no doubt about it - it seems like The Mandalorian is taking big steps that make you scratch your head and ask - “What’s going on?" Maybe we'll have more answers soon with those new stories, as they’ve really turned this live-action Star Wars series on its head. We’re gonna have to keep a close watch on this new Star Wars TV show, too, to find out where it goes! What we have learned: you can't quite predict The Mandalorian!
Are you still keeping up with those great Star Wars stories? Or have you got those new Disney+ Star Wars shows, too?! You can definitely look forward to a Star Wars movie!
