Ethan Choi's Chicago Med Return: Brian Tee Talks Possible Reprisal

Could Brian Tee comeback as Ethan Choi in Chicago Med Season 10?

Choi left at the end of season 8 to launch a mobile clinic, supporting his wife, April Sexton (Yaya DaCosta), in aiding those living in poverty. Given his selflessness, he is unlikely to return to the show very soon since doing so would mean he would be playing a part at the hospital once more. But Tee's approach for returning would create an intriguing episode with references to the total number of Chicago Med cast members that supported the show from its inception.

As of right now, though, Tee and no other significant cast member look not likely to be returning to the medical drama anytime soon. The extensions for the One Chicago program probably center on continuous narratives for the series, especially those involving Chicago Med and its present ensemble. Although it's conceivable for Choi to return for a special episode in the future, it doesn't appear likely in season 10. It also seems the concept would call for other stars to return, something that would demand great coordination to address.

Original Star Brian Tee Addressed Ethan Choi's Chicago Med Return

Chicago Med star Brian Tee has revealed his idea for a prospective comeback of his character, Ethan Choi, therefore indicating how he would want his character to return to the medical drama. Having been a major feature of the medical drama from the beginning, Tee portrayed the Chief of Emergency Medicine from season 1. He left the show at the end of season 8, and it doesn't appear like he will be returning in the upcoming Chicago Med season 10.

Speaking with TVLine, Tee discussed how he would eventually return to Chicago Med and offered suggestions for how Dr. Choi might do it. Should he return, the actor stated, he would like to do it during an occasion that would bring back other significant characters who had since left the program. See what Tee had to say down below:

Background on Chicago Med

Dick Wolf and Matt Olmstead produced the third series in Wolf Entertainment's Chicago line. Chicago Med debuted on NBC in 2015, and periodically has crossover events with Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D.

Following the lives of the doctors and nurses at the fictional Gaffney Chicago Medical Center, Chicago Med is a medical drama television series For those who prefer procedural television, the franchise has evolved into a favorite. The programs have also had crossover episodes, usually among the most fun of the franchise thanks to cross-promotion and common stories.

The Coming Back of Ethan Choi

People always talk about returning on film. It's fascinating. Every season, Chicago Med has some flux, but I get to return and play with all the cast and crew on the director side of things. We will thus always start that discussion, and perhaps it will happen if the appropriate plot or timing surfaces. That is thus one of those things you never bid farewell to.

The hospital very certainly needs assistance. Some sort of disaster is about to happen, some kind of great catastrophic scenario, and maybe they call back me and Will Halstead [played by Nick Gehley] and [Ethan's wife] April [played by Yaya DaCosta] and maybe some of the old crew to sort things out to what it was. My next action would be that. Not really on the schedule yet. Actually, it's on the docket for me, ideally. We will therefore see. Regarding P.D. and Fire, everyone there is producing outstanding work. Furthermore, I know that shooting outside makes it much more difficult. Most of the time, we on Chicago Med find ourselves indoors. From what I know of directing, that will be considerably more of an adventure.

Prospect for Chicago Med

Though it wouldn't happen very quickly, such an episode is within the range of possibility even if Tee could only return to Chicago Med with some degree of specificity. The actor has directed episodes of the show since his leaving, hence he would obviously be open to returning if the plot he was given fit Choi. Should his comeback also feature other stars, it will become among the most memorable special episodes ever produced for the show.

Peacock streams all of Chicago Med's episodes.
