Throughout its running length, Forrest Gump largely hinted to Jenny's age; but, there was one moment that precisely indicated her age, down to her birthdate and Death date. Jenny's tombstone showed that she died on March 22, 1982, and was born on July 16, 1945, thus her 36 years of age upon death. Given Jenny's character trajectory during Forrest Gump, such early age makes logical. Jenny's main focus for most of the film was living her life while she was young; many of the mistakes she made were those of a young person.
Jenny's Age was merely one of the perplexing element of her passing. Audiences have also been left guessing what illness Jenny died from since Forrest Gump merely said that it hadn't been discovered yet in 1981. Two main hypotheses regarding Jenny's disease are that she most certainly had Hepatitis C or HIV/AIDS. She wanted Forrest to look after their kid, Forrest Jr., hence her illness was one of the factors she ultimately agreed to marry him as she could finally slow down. Still, Jenny's condition claimed her life rather rapidly, and she passed not long after she wed Forrest.
Although Jenny's date of Death marks a clear end to her marriAge to Forrest, the precise length is a little more difficult to ascertain. Fortunately, another of Forrest Gump's historical events offers a quite precise chronology. Jenny sent Forrest a note asking to meet once more when John Hinckley Jr.'s attempted attack of Ronald Reagan was under broadcast. That assassination attempt took place on March 30, 1981; so, Forrest married Jenny soon after that. Jenny passed in March 1982, hence Forrest and her were married for somewhat less than a year before her passing.
Though Forrest and Jenny were married for about a year, Forrest Gump hardly showed their life together. From the time they were married until Jenny's death, their marriage actually barely lasts less than two and a half minutes of Forrest Gump's running time. A good amount of that time also displayed Jenny toward the end of her life, bedridden from her disease. Their brief marriage was sad, and this was a big factor in why Forrest Gump's eulogy over Jenny's grave was as emotionally poignant as it was.
The great dialogue in Forrest Gump helps to make the film a beloved one. These are the greatest quotes from Forrest Gump.
Under the viewpoint of an Alabama man with an IQ of 75, the presidencies of Kennedy and Johnson, the events of the Vietnam war, Watergate, and other history play out in this classic piece of American film history. This is a quite poignant story of a very unique man's life path.
Though she tragically died at a very young age, Jenny Curran was the love of Forrest's life in Forrest Gump. One of the most famous films in film history, Forrest Gump has such a legendary reputation partly because of its many highs and lows. From lows like Bubba's death in Vietnam to highs like Lieutenant Dan's recovery, Forrest Gump is a moving roller coaster. Jenny's death was among the most sad events in the whole Movie; her young age upon passing added even more poignancy to this moment.
Though the chronology of Forrest Gump is not very precisely labeled, there are a few historical events Forrest participated in and other hints that guide us to the era each scene of the Movie set. Among the historical events Forrest Gump chronicles were meeting a young Elvis Presley, fighting in the Vietnam War, and seeing the Watergate break-in. From childhood until Forrest married his lifetime love, those events offer a broad but somewhat clear chronicle of his life. Finding Jenny's age at death, however, was less clearly evident.
Among the most famous and sad relationships in film history is that between Forrest and Jenny. Many viewers believe Jenny only opted to be with Forrest once her life was almost over and handed him a terrible deal in the end. Although that is possible, her marriage to Forrest is also wonderful since it clearly showed how much Forrest loved her. Though Forrest's love for Jenny was one of the nicest aspects of Forrest Gump, he only spent less than a year with her before she passed away at the age of thirty-six.
