Phantom Liberty Promises A Cure For V — But Getting It Isn't So Simple
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty has a bunch of big choices that can change how the story goes, what you get, and even the ending. Phantom Liberty takes place around the same time as the end of Cyberpunk 2077. In this DLC, V goes to a part of Night City called Dogtown. V gets pulled into a mission to save the president of the NUSA, Rosalind Myers, from a crash. Songbird helps V with this mission.
Songbird is a big part of Phantom Liberty's story. She's a really good netrunner who works for Rosalind Myers. Songbird is one of the first people to contact V. She tells V about saving Rosalind and about a possible cure for their condition. Songbird is a main character in the Dlc. Later, Kurt Hansen, the leader of Dogtown, captures her. The story is about saving her. But there are a bunch of problems as V tries to get her back.
Phantom Liberty Has A Cure For Songbird Or V - But Not Both
In Phantom Liberty, you have to make a big Choice at the end. This choice can change how the Dlc ends and even the Ending of the base game. In one of the last missions, "The Killing Moon", you have to pick between Solomon Reed and the FIA or Songbird. You'll have to decide Songbird's fate. But you'll probably end up losing the cure that you were promised in the beginning.
You have to decide whether to help Songbird escape or help Reed. Helping Songbird means you'll have to sneak past security and avoid NUSA forces. But then Songbird reveals that the cure can only be used once. This means either Songbird or V will die. Songbird also admits that she has been lying to V. She wants the cure for herself.
Saving Songbird In "The Killing Moon"
If you choose to help Songbird, you give up on the chance of getting a cure for V. But it gives you a different Ending for the DLC. It doesn't change the ending for the base game. You'll have to fight Reed to save Songbird. If you kill him, she gets on the ship to Luna. She gets cured. This is a good ending for Songbird.
If you save Songbird, you get two special weapons. One is the Pariah, a Tech Pistol. The other is the Quantum Tuner, a special Cyberware implant. This option is the best for Songbird but not for V. This option also prevents you from getting a new Ending to the base game.
Taking The Cure Leads To Phantom Liberty's New Main Game Ending
If you choose to help Reed, Songbird will get captured by the NUSA. They'll change her personality. But Reed will give you the cure for V. V will have to leave Night City for a few weeks for the surgery. Then you get a new ending to the base game.
You get cured but end up in a coma for two years. Johnny is gone. Your friends are gone. You can't use combat Cyberware. This ending makes you feel bad. But it kind of makes sense considering how the story went. This Choice is the worst for Songbird but best for V. But it also creates a whole new ending to the base game.
