The Blight Is Killing Whole Worlds
Understanding the Blight requires first understanding the Nameless. These violent animals literally eat the Force within a person, turning them into a dead, calcifying husk. Just by being, a Nameless bends and distorts the Force, sending Jedi terrible sights they fight beyond. But the seeming disintegration, or consumption, of the Force seems to be having a cosmic consequence.
Entire planets have started to calcify, turning into crumbling stone and then implacably collapse. This is the Blight. This effect seems to be like a virus, in that everything that comes into touch with some of the Blight gets impacted by it. Tessa Gratton's Temptation of the Force shows that although a Jedi can fight the Blight by feeding it the Force, it is unrelenting and ravenous, so the Jedi can never quit.

How the Star Wars heroes might possibly stop it is yet unknown.
