Thanks to fans, the coolest weapon in the Dark Ages is playable in earlier games.
DOOM: The Dark Ages might not be accessible until at least next year, but thanks to the power of mods, fans can still get a first look at the most amazing weapon. The Dark Ages' teaser was an amazing preview for Xbox's June Showcase, with a particularly memorable scene where the Doom Slayer equipped a "Saw Shield," revved up and utilized to slice through a tiny army of demons. Fans would naturally want to test the weapon early since it is really remarkable in terms of quick charges, ranged kills, and damage blocking.
Modder Creeper of Steam was able to create an amazing Saw Shield prototype that fits perfectly into the original DOOM, which they shared on X (previously Twitter).
A shield is fresh ground for DOOM.
Many viewers were surprised to see the Saw Shield in DOOM: The Dark Ages since the idea of running from adversaries does not always coincide with the values of the franchise. The shooter of Id Software has often pushed players to surge into battle and play aggressively instead of hiding and dodging bullets. Giving the Doom Slayer a shield able to both stop damage and rip and tear through demons seems like a stroke of genius.
Although the developer has not provided any concrete knowledge regarding the Shield Saw, it is reasonable to assume that The Dark Ages would feature an upgrade system akin to those of the two earlier relaunched games. Players may therefore raise the range, power, speed, and blocking capacity of the weapon. Attacking a group of demons would be best done by arming the Shield Saw with a lock-on or homing capability.
The traditional DOOM game
The Mod for the original 1993 shooter lets players equip the item and use it to eliminate several undead soldiers and Imps. Doom Guy can deflect incoming fire, deliver a vicious melee attack on close-range enemies, and even toss it like Captain America before scooping it up from the ground thanks to the remarkably outstanding add-on's capability.
For players of the game, the designers of this mod, CreeperOf Steam, have produced something original and interesting. The mod is a great addition to the game and a great chance for fans to experience DOOM's newest weapon ahead of its launch with its design and utility.
Examining DOOM closer: The Dark Ages
Though the footage also showed several other fascinating tools of anarchy, the Shield Saw is clearly DOOM: The Dark Ages' most amazing weapon displayed in the most recent teaser. The most unusual is a scattergun allegedly firing pieces of a skull pulverized down to dust within its chamber. The well-known Double-Barrelled Shotgun also resuraces since it wouldn't be Doom without the hallmark weapon.
The next DOOM game, DOOM: The Dark Ages, offers a fresh setting for the known Doom Slayer character. The series keeps stretching limits with its story.
