From Black Clover's underappreciated story's very start, Yuno has always seemed to be a great many steps ahead of Asta. Though Yuno has worked hard to raise his skills, Asta's diligence and will have persuaded the Grand Magic Knight he is inferior. For a character like Yuno, who is usually shown as an arrogant opponent with inherent aptitude in everything they try, this is an interesting change. Yuno's theory that he cannot become Wizard King while Asta is still alive may be accurate now that Asta has once more raised his capabilities in the foreign place he was dispatched to.
Set in a world where everyone is endowed with magical ability, the narrative centers on Asta, a small child born without any magic power who is granted a rare grimoire conferring anti-magic ability. Asta intends to be the next Wizard King alongside his Black Bulls fellow Mage team.
