Is This A New Wonder Woman We’ve Never Seen Before?
Looks like Wonder Woman's gone to a totally different place! It's Gotham by Gaslight but this isn't the same as the usual DC Comic book storylines! This is a new world, in a Victorian time, so Wonder Woman is kind of changed.
What Is "Gotham by Gaslight - The Kryptonian Age"?
Think of it as an "Elseworlds" story, with some really different takes on some beloved DC Comics characters. This one features Batman, but it takes us to the 19th century!
So What’s New About Wonder Woman In This Series?
This is like the ultimate dark iteration of Wonder Woman. This isn't the Wonder Woman fans know and love; it's kind of a darker, edgier story, and even her Costume looks like it is based around ancient armor with a whole lot of Arctic fashion mixed in. This seems like the makers of the Gotham by Gaslight series really wanted to shake things up.
Wait, What's With The “Moon”?
- She is totally a grown woman but she says in the comic that she never even got to see the moon. What is up with that?
- You are right to question everything - it's super-weird and this totally feels like a hint that her origins might be completely messed up, like some tragic backstory happened. This is kind of a wild turn of events, because fans normally think of her Amazonian past and those super powerful abilities! And not that this one won't be a powerful superhero. There's still something special about those Wonder Woman powers - her super-strength, Lasso of Truth, those cool powers she has.
What Are Her Powers In "Gotham by Gaslight - The Kryptonian Age"?
- We haven't got any big hints - she takes on a giant centipede but that doesn’t mean much because her abilities might be different in this new universe.
- What is crazy, and not too far fetched, is that she is actually more into those weapons and might even be using an Amazonian sword rather than the iconic Lasso of Truth.
You never know what you'll get from the DC Comics world! It's really an exciting moment for Wonder Woman fans - we are not too sure how it is gonna go. You never know when something totally different can change your understanding of a comic character.
Maybe Wonder Woman fans will be shocked with Gotham by Gaslight - The Kryptonian Age! But with those awesome, dark story lines, there’s a high chance we are going to be loving "Wonder Woman"'s time as an Amazonian in this Elseworlds series!
