Why is there such a discrepancy in the number of Jedi during the New Republic Era?
Let's be honest. The Star Wars sequel trilogy kinda messed things up when it comes to Jedi. The story implies Luke Skywalker was basically the last one, but we've learned from some new Star Wars TV Shows that this was wrong.
Is The Sequel Trilogy Really That Confusing?
- If you are a hardcore Star Wars fan, this might bug you. A lot of fans are not exactly thrilled about the sequel trilogy and they've got plenty of reasons to say it!
- But the sequels brought new stuff to the story, like Rey being the Last Jedi! But, those TV Shows keep throwing us a bunch of curveballs and changing how we understand that Star Wars story, making it super confusing!
- For one thing, Ahsoka Tano - the fan-favorite Jedi from the animated Clone Wars series - is around during the same period. We have seen her a lot with the other Jedi - Sabine Wren and Ezra Bridger.
- It turns out a bunch of Jedi, survived Order 66!
Did They All Just Die In Another Secret War?
We have to look back. The sequel trilogy didn't mention that there were lots of Jedi around in those films! There was this epic battle on Exegol in The Rise of Skywalker where the Resistance went head-to-head against The Final Order, but the Jedi were a no-show - nowhere to be seen! And, what happened to the Jedi Temple after the Skywalker Saga! Why is this Jedi thing, so secret. This raises some big questions that Star Wars really has to answer,
The "Star Wars" Fans Have A lot to Say
So there is definitely this massive disconnect - they've got to explain it!
- It wouldn’t make sense for the sequel trilogy to be missing these big galactic events. It's really something they're gonna need to deal with, in the upcoming movies!
- Fans have been waiting! This whole New Republic, is one of those crazy parts of the story, too - since it takes place during Star Wars: The Last Jedi, as well!
- If you look back, though - even The Mandalorian really has nothing to do with Order 66. And it seems that Skeleton Crew is going in another direction, so there's still this super confusing mystery!
Star Wars keeps giving us a whole new bunch of movies and shows that we gotta keep up with! Hopefully, those new movies that Disney+ is cooking up are going to get some answers to what’s happening - and answer the big question of what’s the real legacy of Order 66!
