What's Going On With the New She-Hulk in Marvel's Latest Comic?
We all know Jennifer Walters, right? She's Bruce Banner's cousin, who becomes a powerful She-Hulk thanks to some gamma-infused blood. But the latest Marvel Comics shake up the Hulk's world, showing a whole new She-Hulk with a creepy, disturbing origin story that explains where this entire Hulk army comes from!
Where did all these Hulks come from?
- It all comes down to gamma testing in the Pacific. Marvel's messing with the timeline in this new Ultimate Universe, so things are different now.
- This Ultimate Universe is controlled by The Maker, an evil mastermind who controls the world by bending the status quo through time travel! He basically controls everything.
- But it turns out he's also behind gamma weaponry and those super powerful nuclear tests at the Pacific Proving Grounds. All this mess was designed to create an army of Hulks that are basically the Maker's own evil toys!
Why does this matter?
- Our new She-Hulk is a leader of this Hulk army! The Ultimates, this team of heroes led by the young Tony Stark (not the playboy we're used to!), is trying to fight against this, and She-Hulk is their main ally.
- In The Ultimates #3, we see Tony's team finding the remains of Hulk-powered lizards created by those bombs. Yikes. And in the coming months, the Ultimates Network is going to be a key weapon in their fight.
Why is the Maker so creepy?
- This Maker guy is basically Marvel's latest villain-extraordinaire. And trust me, he's really scary. We know the world has messed up things by testing dangerous weaponry before, and now The Maker is basically taking advantage of that.
- The Maker's messed with a lot of people in his scheme, corrupting and bending the most important Marvel heroes to do his evil bidding. It's kind of sad and twisted!
- He's a complete dictator, setting up his own "Council" that includes the Legendary Hulk (think a Bruce Banner on steroids). This Legendary Hulk rules over a crazy cult called the Children of Eternal Light. Oh, and he's framed the Ultimates for a massive attack on New York!
- That's the whole point of this new Ultimate Invasion! All those bombs messed everything up, leading to human modification and lots of heroes turning against each other! The Ultimates have a tough job of freeing the world, with the likes of Moon Knight, Black Panther, and a whole slew of others standing against them.
- The Maker even messed with Iron Lad - think the young, awesome version of Kang. Now, everyone's trying to stop him before he turns evil like his future self.
So What Now?
- The fight between the Ultimates and Hulk is gonna be HUGE! Ultimates #6 comes out in November, so we can expect things to get chaotic.
- We are seeing some of the biggest and baddest heroes on the Ultimates team, from Iron Lad to the original Captain America. Oh yeah, even Doctor Doom is in this, but he's not exactly the bad guy this time!
- Marvel is keeping a really close watch on this universe with "Ultimate Universe: One Year In", which focuses on how the world is reacting to this whole crisis.
