That's right, Batman actually got a robotic hand! He was fighting on another planet, in the DC Universe, and things didn't go so well - it got cut off! So, you might ask - how does he get it back? Well, in Batman #149 - they flipped the script!
This is what they called a “multiverse” story! Basically, they’re talking about all those alternate realities. And, in one of those universes, it’s been totally unveiled that Bruce Wayne actually made a Clone of himself - it’s really mind-boggling, right?
The story really gets wild! Batman is trying to survive these super bad dudes and one even chops off his right hand. To save the day, he actually winds up with another Batman, who has a super awesome robotic hand! Now it gets more insane because this new Batman clone is just a young dude at the time and starts aging way too fast.
To get a whole new hand, Bruce’s clone chops off his own hand to give to Batman! And even though Bruce Wayne has used his robotic hand for all sorts of cool stuff like climbing buildings or, you know, blending in to smoke bombs - he gets a new human hand back! So, that is super weird but kind of amazing! That really is one of the strangest things to ever happen in the Batman world! Now we'll just have to see what crazy twists they have in store for this new Batman story!
It sounds crazy, but this is a super brutal part of the story - that part of the Batman multiverse has this really crazy Batman who's basically the Dark Knight in retirement. This guy fights his way out of an epic showdown and his right hand doesn’t make it through the fight!
This one might blow your mind a little, since Ghostmaker is basically a bad guy in that Batman world! Ghostmaker’s super fast. The funny thing about it all is that even Bruce Wayne thought that the battle was all over - but he’d actually been injured by the time he'd gotten to safety!
Who’d have thought a cool robot hand could actually turn into a weird and awkward situation! This was one of those big moments for Batman - the loss of that hand! You never know what crazy twists might come up for Batman's world!
