Hawks' New Job Hints at a Huge Shift in My Hero Academia's World
The My Hero Academia finale is hinting at a big change in how the hero society treats people without quirks! It all comes down to Hawks, the former number 2 hero, who got one of the most important government jobs – even though he lost his quirk fighting All For One!
Before the big final war, the My Hero Academia world was filled with discrimination and unfairness. The worst part was how people without quirks were treated. They were looked down upon and considered weak, like they weren't even real people.
Hawks Being the Hero Public Safety Commission President Is a Proof of Positive Change
In chapter 385, we see Hawks battling All For One. Because All For One got his youth back with a special Quirk Erasing Bullet, Hawks didn't stand a chance. He lost his quirk, becoming just a normal human. This means he'll never get his powers back.
But a few weeks later, in chapter 426, we see Hawks as the new president of the Hero Public Safety Commission! This is like the biggest job in Japan – the boss gets to make all the rules for heroes. It's a huge deal, and before, someone without a quirk would never even be considered for this role. Hawks getting the job means things are changing – people are starting to see that a quirk doesn't define someone's worth.
Since many brave heroes lost their quirks fighting All For One, the world is probably becoming more accepting of people without them. Plus, Deku, the guy who saved everyone from All For One, was born without a quirk. So that probably helped too. Hero Society is finally starting to understand that your quirk doesn't matter – it's who you are on the inside that counts!
And since Hawks is now one of the Quirkless crowd, he's in a great position to make sure these changes keep happening.
Discrimination Against Heteromorph and "Villainous" Quirks Must Also Be Addressed
It's not just about people without quirks, though. People born with really different-looking bodies (called Heteromorphs) or quirks that scare people have been treated badly too. It’s like what happened to Shoji and Koda. They fought hard to help others like them.
Hawks needs to help these groups too, not just the Quirkless ones. He needs to fix the unfair treatment that made the Paranormal Liberation Front happen. People saw what happened to the Heteromorphs who joined All For One, and they know we need to stop this kind of discrimination. We can’t let another supervillain like All For One rise up!
The good news is that Hawks knows about these problems. He saw them firsthand as a hero. He's probably the perfect person for this job. He's got the brains, the heart, and the experience to make a difference.
No matter how it happens, the hero world needs to change. We need to stop creating more villains like All For One. The My Hero Academia world might be getting better, and Hawks is going to be a great leader for this new era. He might not have a quirk, but he can be a hero for millions of people as the new Safety Commission president!
