Baron Mordo Begnas a Good Guy, but Went Astray.
Among the oldest enemies of Doctor Strange is Baron Mordo. Like Strange, Mordo was an Ancient One disciple once. When Strange showed up, Mordo was deep into his studies and felt jealously. With less than perfect intentions as well, Mordo set a trap on Strange that would disable him until the villain could execute his sinister objectives. Strange and the Ancient One defeated Mordo, therefore a rivalry developed. Doctor Strange's evolution as a hero was much aided by Mordo, who also made the crossover to the MCU and was portrayed by Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Though Blood Hunt has put the heroes' backs up against the wall, challenging them to think outside the box, Baron Mordo would seem to be the last character anybody would trust to save the day. The vampire evaluation of Doctor Strange was accurate: he presented the greatest threat they might have encountered. Strange was dealt with early on since he knew the Montesi Formula, which can kill vampires. Strange has possession over his astral form, but it is ineffective for really fighting vampires or doing other physical work.
Will Baron Mordo Earth Save?
Now bring Baron Mordo in. Seen locked in the Crypt of Shadows, Mordo is equally strong as Doctor Strange. One strong spell the Montesi Formula calls for a talented sorcerer to employ. Although many people could cast the magic, Mordo's aptitude and ability make him the best fit for it. Before corruption, Mordo was first decent; Blood Hunt has given him the perfect slate on which to atone. According to the MCU, Mordo was once a decent guy who might easily be once more.
