Cyclops Fanart Verifies His New Look as Among the Character's Greatest
With almost every mutant in the X-Men's roster receiving a revised costume design to signal their next age of adventures, Fall of X concluded an overall storyline starting with 2019's House of X/Powers of X and resulting in a new status quo for the next version of X-Teams. Cyclops's most recent appearance honors his classic 90s attire, bringing the character into the present day with a strikingly eye-catching design. He is wearing a sleek yellow and blue suit that leverages the former hue to help the Costume pop.
With Tom's signature art style and excellent color-work nailing the overall look and feel of Cyclops' new Costume, Drawn next to the severed skull of a beaten Sentinel Cyclops stands at attention with a hand poised ready to fire an optic blast. Tom's subdued additions to the suit have many fans in the comments saying that his interpretation of this redesign has made them appreciate Cyclops's official in-issue suit even more, so establishing this costume as a worthy addition to Scott Summers's rich visual legacy. Giving the yellow sections of Cyclops's chest and shoulders a somewhat armored look.
New Fanart Highlights Late Yellow and Blue X-Men Design from Cyclops
Given Hugh Jackman's upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine costume, which seems totally feasible given Cyclops is seen sporting here, considering the MCU is leading up introducing Cyclops and the rest of Marvel's Merry Band of Mutants in the near future, it wouldn't be surprising to see this costume used as inspiration for Cyclops' next live-action design. Regardless of the MCU status of the character, Cyclops's newest costume is hands down with Tom Reilly's (@tomreillyart) artwork and the remainder of the forthcoming X-Men issues displaying this new appearance clearly establishing this.
