My Hero Academia: You're Next - A New Movie, A New Smash
Set to premiere in Japan on August 2nd and in North America on October 11th, the much awaited fourth My Hero Academia movie, "You're Next," Set to highlight Deku's new strongest attack, this film will see the UA students square off against Dark Might, a villainous rendition of the former Symbol of Peace.
Deku's New Smash pays homage to All Might.
Voice actors Daiki Yamashita (Izuku Midoriya), Nobuhiko Okamoto (Katsuki Bakugo), and Sakura Ayane (Ochako Uraraka) offered their impressions on the movie in an interview for Japanese magazine More. For both Okamoto and Yamashita, Deku's fresh smash—which has an original twist—was the highlight. The smash sees Deku shout out the names of several American states, a direct homage to All Might's "United States of Smash."
Although Deku's new smash honors his idol, it also highlights his own distinctive technique. It shows Deku's personal progress and differs from All Might's main attack.
A Combining of Shatters
Deku's new smash, which combines several state names, points to a mix of smashes rather than a single, strong action. This reminds me of Deku's past use of the "1,000,000% Delaware Detroit Smash," which combined two strong techniques against Muscular. Including state names suggests a dynamic and maybe overwhelming attack driven by Deku's mastery of One For All.
One for All: The Power
Set between the Dark Hero Arc and the commencement of the Final War, "You're Next" This means Deku has completely mastered One For All's quirks, including the ability to use Fa Jin to boost his power and employ 100% of One For All without the crippling recoil. The new film thus shows a Deku who is stronger and more competent than ever before. Born from this mastery, his new smash is probably among his most forceful attacks thus far.
Expectation of Deku's New Attack
The voice actors' enthusiasm for Deku's fresh attack accentuates the mounting expectation for "You're Next." As Deku confronts his teacher and idol's dark counterpart, the film looks to be an exciting spectacle. The whole potential of Deku's new smash and its effects on the fight against Dark Might excite fans.
