The Boys has introduced a new character, Webweaver, who's basically Spider-Man with a twist. A lot of the supes in the show are parodies of famous superheroes from Marvel and DC, like Homelander being a Superman rip-off. Webweaver is no different. Billy Butcher and Grace Mallory took him down before the comics even started, which actually led to the creation of the Boys.
A first-look image of Webweaver was released during V52 Expo, a fake event hosted by Vought. The whole thing was in episode 5 of the series. Webweaver will be making his first appearance in episode 6. So you can be sure to see him swinging into action!
Word on the street is that Webweaver has been in "rehab" at the Global Wellness Center in Malibu. It's the same place where Maeve was supposedly getting help after her shenanigans with The Boys. Turns out that Maeve was actually a prisoner at Vought Tower. So it's a safe bet that Vought isn't just a place for supes to get better, they're using it as a way to control them!
Webweaver's "rehab" might be a cover story for something more sinister. Maybe Vought is trying to brainwash him or maybe they just want him back in action. Whatever the case, it's likely that Webweaver won't be the same after his time at the Wellness Center.
Turns out that Butcher and Webweaver have a history. Butcher spent a whole lot of cash on a heroin enema, which he gave to Webweaver in exchange for dirt on one of the Seven's new members, Firecracker. Seems like Webweaver has a serious drug problem and that's probably why Vought sent him to "rehab" in the first place.
Homelander and Firecracker are not going to be happy when they find out Webweaver ratted them out. Especially since they've both shown that they're not afraid to use violence to get what they want. It's not going to be pretty for Webweaver if Homelander and Firecracker get their hands on him.
Webweaver might be a pawn in Homelander's game. Remember Sister Sage? She's been working with Homelander to get more power for supes, and Webweaver could be part of that plan. Homelander wants to divide the public, and Webweaver's powers or his drug addiction could be used to make that happen.
It's not just Homelander who might be manipulating Webweaver. Vought is likely to try to use him to their advantage as well. They might try to control him and use him to promote their products. Webweaver might be in way over his head.
Webweaver might be a parody of Spider-man, but he's definitely not a hero. He's a drug addict who's willing to sell out his fellow supes for a quick buck. And Homelander and Vought are both eager to use him to their advantage.
It's going to be interesting to see how Webweaver plays into all of this. Maybe he'll be a big part of the story, maybe he'll just be a small player. But one thing is for sure, he's not going to be a hero.
