Who is the Three-Eyed Raven, and What Went Wrong in 'Game of Thrones'?
Fans still talk about 'Game Of Thrones'. It's got a lot of crazy twists, but one of those things that everyone has been debating is Bran Stark! Did his whole story just kinda…crash? The Three-Eyed Raven is a huge part of Bran's arc in the series. We only knew so much about him back then - but it made everyone want to know more!
Is The Three-Eyed Raven Really Bloodraven?
- Turns out we got a glimpse of him back in 'House of the Dragon'. A super spooky character called Bloodraven - but this one has the potential to become the Three-Eyed Raven! You didn't hear it from me, but that show actually clears up that mystery, and we even get to see the telltale red birthmark that was hinted at in the books!
- Those 'Game of Thrones' producers never fully confirmed this guy’s identity, even though they gave him a big role, and now they made it pretty clear. But it's weird to see how Bloodraven looks totally different from the way Bran turned into the Three-Eyed Raven in the later seasons. Maybe that was one of the big flaws, right?
Bran As the Three-Eyed Raven
- When Bran transformed, they just left out some details. How'd the magic work? How many Three-Eyed Ravens were there before him? How does this whole time travel and vision thing actually work? Those are the big questions everyone was thinking. The 'Game of Thrones' showrunners never really answered.
- There was a bunch of super interesting stories waiting there, but instead of diving into that, we had Bran end up king! The series was not as clear on his powers or abilities, and instead of expanding upon these, it seems they kinda forgot! You gotta ask why it happened. I guess they wanted him to be king so he would be more mysterious and that would add to the drama!
- It seems as though he didn't really want to be a Three-Eyed Raven. What was Bran's side of the story?! And we still haven't seen what his transformation looks like! That might be the biggest failure in Bran Stark’s story - how his whole 'Three-Eyed Raven' experience never came to light.
Can "House of the Dragon" Fix This?
- There might be a chance! 'House of the Dragon' does make us think there are a lot of wild, interesting stories that are just waiting to be revealed about the Three-Eyed Raven. But with the show focused on Dunk and Egg’s story, the writers are probably gonna have to keep Bloodraven’s story under wraps!
- If there's a chance, 'Game of Thrones' needs a whole new spin-off - they could give us an extra look into how Bloodraven changed and got those Three-Eyed Raven powers. Then they could do something awesome like explaining how Bran actually wound up being a king after the whole 'Game of Thrones' ending!
Fans, in my opinion, didn't really like 'Game of Thrones' ending! It didn't feel finished, really. And this new, extra show about the Three-Eyed Raven might just give the story a whole new ending. I guess this is how you end up in that Iron Throne after being known as a Three-Eyed Raven!
