Fans of Star Trek are always eager for new stories and details! One of the most well-loved captains, Worf, has his own mystery to solve, and it all has to do with his ship, the USS Enterprise-E. This is not just a random story but an exciting one with a compelling plot!
Worf's Enterprise Mystery:
The Star Trek: Picard series featured Worf, in season three. This came as a big surprise for those who loved Star Trek: The Next Generation. We got to see the rebuilt USS Enterprise-D and Worf was teased by some friends, leading him to declare the destruction of the USS Enterprise-E was not his fault.
This creates quite the mystery and intrigue. What was so shocking about the USS Enterprise-E? Well, this is an iconic starship in Star Trek and you know it was an awesome ship if Captain Jean-Luc Picard was its captain!
- The USS Enterprise-E was released in 2373. Picard commanded it during several movies. First Contact, Insurrection and Nemesis included it as well!
- The Enterprise-E saw Picard get promoted to Admiral. That happened in 2381, after Picard got promoted and Worf was given command of the Enterprise-E!
A New Theory:
A fan theory is sweeping through the Star Trek fan community. A theory is going around saying that maybe Worf is innocent. The idea is pretty out there. That what might explain where Worf's ship ended up may come down to something revealed in Star Trek: Prodigy!
This is all from a meme created by Daniel Stalvey in a Facebook group! According to the theory Worf could have been the captain of the USS Defiant during the Star Trek: Prodigy season finale and what happened with Worf. Might even let him be cleared of any wrongdoing! The finale took place in 2384. This was well after he became captain, which might give the show some credence!
What Happened In Star Trek: Prodigy:
According to this interesting theory, Starfleet got themselves into a dangerous, very hairy situation. If Worf did end up captaining the USS Defiant that would make perfect sense that the Enterprise-E could have also been near Gamma Serpentis, as the fight takes place! If that was the case Worf could not have stopped the Living Construct and he didn't actually destroy the Enterprise-E.
It seemed that everyone had an impact at that time as Worf may have just been caught up in the fray! The event shows just how unpredictable this war could become!
Problems With The Theory:
But there are some holes in this crazy Star Trek fan theory.
The timelines do not seem to fit for many series fanatics!
- According to established history. The character Worf had left the Defiant back in 2375.
- That was about a decade earlier than Star Trek: Prodigy's finale. That creates quite a timeline conflict and it's something Star Trek fans often want to see confirmed and verified.
- While this is a super interesting point what occurred in Star Trek: Prodigy really can be seen as something of a mystery to figure out!
What's really interesting. Is Aaron J. Waltke. He is a Star Trek: Prodigy co-executive producer! This producer gave some credence that it all fits. Yet, what this doesn't take into account is that to actually say something was officially made canonical, you need the actual Star Trek shows and movies to release them, or mention it themselves. Therefore the fate of the Enterprise-E and where Worf was during that time may remain up in the air for those viewers wanting answers.
The Big Reveal?
Fans get so pumped with these unique theories and some are funny too. They make the story much more enjoyable! Terry Matalas is a Star Trek: Picard season 3 showrunner. Matalas actually spoke about leaving Worf's ship's destruction as something for the fans. Something he chose to leave open ended for these Star Trek fans!
Matalas didn't give any answers, though there might be something special for these dedicated series enthusiasts, as we just might see these fun facts get brought out at a later time! That makes it quite enjoyable and worth pondering!
While the mystery will live on, for a short time, as future iterations are developed it seems to be an exciting topic. With a large community of Star Trek fanatics and a series so widely viewed this certainly adds even more charm!
