He isn't exactly obscure as some might remember the roles this actor played, but they definitely stood out at the time.

Think back. It might be a shock to believe but there was a time that Ryan Reynolds wasn't so super well-known! In Scrubs season 2, episode 22 ("My Dream Job"), he took on the role of Spence and the actor's profile had recently started to grow from roles such as Van Wilder: Party Liaison in 2002. However, he wasn't quite as iconic. That's what really sets up the big difference that a potential return might create for Scrubs season 10.
If Reynolds returns, the role will totally eclipse the previous version!
- His first role in Scrubs gave him very little to do, despite the talent that is already very apparent even in that relatively smaller role.
- Expect a completely different appearance, if this truly happens, and even a bigger and way more substantial role as the story progresses.
- Spence could easily dominate any episode he shows up in, overshadowing those around him. It makes total sense that he is the focal point if he makes an appearance in the revival series. This time he can't help but be noticed given how incredible an actor he has become!

- Reynolds focuses almost exclusively on films, rather than TV these days.
- Considering Reynolds is incredibly popular now after the success of the Deadpool movies, his salary will likely be well out of the range for many TV series.
However, the connection that Disney has might work in the favor of the Scrubs crew. As Disney is the owner of Scrubs and also where Reynolds currently does so much work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). So maybe?
But regardless of if it ever happens or not, a Ryan Reynolds cameo as Spence in a Scrubs revival is exciting for many reasons and what he might offer! Even though it's something of a fantasy that might never come to be! The show had lots of unexpected comedic elements! Fans already got what seems like many fun and unusual cameos.
What's going to be super compelling, is that these smaller characters that once played a more obscure part, could be one that takes center stage and could be one of the most exciting additions in the Scrubs revival! It makes season 10 potentially incredible.
