Hallmark's Christmas in July is Coming to Peacock
Peacock is the Streaming home for Hallmark Channel content outside of Hallmark's own streaming service. When new Hallmark movies are added to Peacock, they are usually available for 72 hours, then removed, so that they can be added back to the platform after they've repeated on the Hallmark Channel (or one of its affiliates) over the course of a month. In July, Hallmark is hosting a Christmas in July event that includes airing some of the network's holiday classics as well as new movies.
For Peacock, Hallmark's Christmas in July also begins on July 1. Numerous "library Movies" are added to Peacock, that is older Hallmark movies that will repeat during the event on the network that Hallmark fans can watch any time on Peacock. There will also, however, be some new additions throughout July. For example, on July 7, Peacock will add Three Wise Men and a Baby: Extended Cut. Three Wise Men and a Baby was one of Hallmark's most-watched movies for a Christmas special, and now, fans will be able to see even more of the story.
The Jaws Franchise is Now Available
It's widely known that if a movie gets multiple sequels, chances are the first movie is the best. Throughout July, Peacock is allowing its subscribers to see whether that is true for themselves by having several movie series join the streamer. One of those is the Jaws Movies.
Jaws is a true masterpiece. It created a suspenseful tale with an iconic musical score, and it did it with a constantly malfunctioning mechanical shark. The movie made a generation terrified to go to the beach, so, naturally, more movies in the same vein were created. Though there have been many stories of killer sharks, Jaws is probably the best. It's a perfect summer movie, so this is an excellent time for it and the sequels to be added to Peacock.
The Men in Black Trilogy is Ready for Your Viewing Pleasure
While Men In Black: International isn't available to stream on Peacock, the original Men In Black trilogy is. The chemistry between Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith is largely what made these sci-fi action movies work so well. The movies are full of quippy one-liners, great action sequences, and some impressive effects in addition to a hilarious cast of characters.
Men In Black introduces the audience to the idea of a secret agency corralling extraterrestrials that are visiting or invading Earth on a regular basis. Men In Black II uncovers a conspiracy. Men In Black III takes an adventure through time traveling. Each movie has its merits, but the first of the trilogy is arguably the most entertaining of the bunch, establishing the characters and even creating the basis for the Universal Studios theme park ride.
Anna Kendrick Shines in Pitch Perfect
Though Pitch Perfect did kick off a trilogy, only the first of the three movies will be available to stream on Peacock in July. All three movies have been on the platform at different dates, and it appears that will continue to be the case as the streamer switches out the movies.
Pitch Perfect centers around college freshman Beca (Anna Kendrick) as she joins an all female a cappella group on campus simply to get her father to take her dreams of becoming a music producer seriously. She wants to work, but he wants her to experience college life. Along the way, she makes some real friends and creates some interesting mashups.
Terminator 2: Judgement Day is a Must-Watch
It's rare for a sequel to be considered better than the first movie, but that's definitely the case for Terminator 2. In fact, it's considered the best of any media in the Terminator franchise. No matter how many times the franchise has attempted to reboot or craft another sequel, fans keep coming back to this movie for more.
Here, a Terminator is sent back in time to protect John Connor and his mother - the very person who was targeted by a Terminator in the first movie. The story is as much a coming-of-age story for John as it is a straight-up action movie for his mother and the Terminator. The effects of the time are incredibly impressive and still hold up today, and the story of survival is one of the most compelling of the movie series.
Titanic's Timeless Love Story
At the time it was produced, Titanic was one of the most expensive movies ever made, and it proved to pay off with huge box office returns, positive critical reception, and a lasting legacy. The movie chronicles the trip on board the Titanic for a woman in first class traveling to America with her mother and fiancé. Rose, however, wants out of the relationship, and when she considers jumping overboard, she meets a young man from steerage who won his tickets in a card game. Jack changes her life.
Though the movie chronicles the tragedy of the sinking of the Titanic, at its heart, it's a love story. Rose and Jack fall for one another very quickly and Rose's brief experience with Jack changes her life. He helps her realize she's brave enough to make a change, leave her fiancé, and live life on her own terms. Of course, she only does all that after spending the time after the sinking of the Titanic on a floating door that has caused debate about the movie to rage ever since its release.
The 2024 Olympics are Coming to Peacock
NBC and its affiliated networks have long been the home of Olympic coverage. Now, Peacock is as well. Throughout the month of June, Peacock allowed subscribers to stream Olympic trials, and in July, Peacock will stream coverage of the 2024 Olympic Games. Because Peacock is based in the USA, the coverage will focus on the USA teams, but it is expected to cover all of the elite sports competitions.
Not only will the different games be available to stream on Peacock, but so will the opening ceremonies before the games as well as commentary about the activities hosted by Kevin Hart and Kenan Thompson. Coverage of the games begins on July 26, but it will last into August as the games themselves take place across two weeks.
