Fans of Chicago PD were excited about the recent episode focused on Atwater, and it was truly a great look into the complexities that he faces in his job and in his life! It was truly emotional!
Atwater's Storyline:
The Chicago PD episode delves into Atwater's world and the challenges that he encounters and that include his job, relationships and even the way he deals with the outside world. This includes some difficult discussions and stressful situations that Atwater is known for confronting and also what impacts him both internally and externally. The story highlighted Atwater's feelings of pressure from various places, leading him to experience moments of emotional distress and showing how important his need for support actually is. But that wasn't all! This series shows an interesting turn of events that could make him find a new relationship and get involved in something special and emotional, especially now that Hailey Upton has left Chicago PD.
A New Love Interest?
Viewers saw an intriguing storyline begin, something fans will really appreciate! The big event- Atwater finding himself with a potential new partner. What's truly cool about this special moment is that things took an unexpected turn. Atwater meets Val, his new love interest, who reveals she works as a forensic psychotherapist for the police. This dynamic brought new complexities. It seemed almost inevitable that this would become tricky for these characters! It turns out this added some friction into Atwater's personal and work life.
The Unseen Trauma:
While Atwater's story was pretty compelling in its emotional depiction, it seems there's something that got left out! There were several events where it looked like other major characters' lives were sidelined and one was notably forgotten, that being Ruzek!
Ruzek is another integral character of the Chicago PD universe who is deeply connected to other well-known cast members! What makes this especially apparent is that Ruzek was in an exceptionally traumatizing situation.
- He saw Martel, his partner, murdered in front of his own eyes and had to hold her dying body.
Fans wonder about the effects that Ruzek had and its effect upon Burgess!
- It was not really credible how his life didn't get the special attention as he continued in his day-to-day, working with a completely unaffected sense of normalcy after he had seen that.
- Burgess was not shown reaching out!
These events raise questions! It’s almost unthinkable that they have no dialogue between Burgess and Ruzek after such a pivotal, intense scene! Their interaction really made the show all the more remarkable and these events should have carried weight to these people’s lives!
An Upcoming Wedding:
Burgess and Ruzek have made it clear to audiences their intent to get married! Yet, this huge event might bring out an incredibly heartbreaking turn for these characters, unless he gets his time to heal before walking down the aisle!
If things continue this way it will mean heartbreak!
- His failure to come to terms could have serious repercussions!
- The series could end their relationship which could be quite painful and impact others too. If that happens, imagine what impact this will have on their daughter!
These situations may end the relationship. That might end the marriage. However, one thing for sure that hasn't been missed! This is not really a surprise. These actors play amazing parts! Viewers wonder why Ruzek's Trauma is ignored, and how this story will end and give audiences a compelling watch that truly addresses this trauma. This gives the story incredible gravity!
Fans want to see a happily-ever-after ending for Ruzek and Burgess, especially considering their complicated relationship that had many peaks and valleys!
Viewers might get to see what Ruzek and Burgess do but this does not seem possible unless it is a moment where they acknowledge the pain.
What's truly missing seems to be dialogue. The Chicago PD showrunner Gwen Sigan talks about why things happen as it does. Viewers look forward to seeing what unfolds but truly this could make "Chicago PD" a powerful story, if those who make it truly want to address and acknowledge the emotions from such critical, traumatic experiences! What fans want to know and feel the emotion!
