Whatever the specifics, Beck is already looking to be a better villain than what *Reacher* seasons 1 and 2 produced. Jack and his friends had to fight the Kliners when they got to Margrave; KJ ended up killing Joe Reacher. That being said, they were one-dimensional—the usual dark and selfish rich family engaged in illicit activity in a small town—which made them not particularly interesting enemies. Though they were also major letdowns, *Reacher* season 2 seemed to be redeeming itself in the Villain category with Shane Langston and AM.
Langston and AM could have been a lethal 1-2 punch. One is the nasty business man; the other is his executor. Sadly, like the Kliners, they also proved to be monotonous, lacking any other kind of character save dull villains. Though that didn't happen, *Reacher* season 2 could have highlighted them and given them more appeal. Ultimately, both add to the already expanding collection of evil characters in the Amazon Prime Video series. Fortunately, Beck seems like Season 3 has a chance to offset.
Particular story elements for season three of *Reacher* are still under wraps. The show's production has been subtly moving for months now, and set material has given the public a concept of what to expect. Beyond that, the assurance that Child's *Persuader* from 2003 is verified to be the novel that *Reacher* Season 3 would be based on essentially confirms the idea of the hero's approaching quest. Jack's next journey will find him undercover finishing a debt from his past. *Reacher* season 3 will also feature Zachary Beck, a fresh Villain created by Anthony Michael Hall.
Whatever the details, Hall says Beck presents a fascinating dynamic in *Reacher* season 3 "because he's not an absolute villain." The public can so anticipate a more complex enemy. Although Child's books form the basis of the Amazon Prime Video project, showrunner Nick Santora has made it quite clear that they are not bound by the source material, hence it is foolish to entirely anticipate Beck's *Persuader* narrative to be the same on the small screen. Said another way, Hall's latest remarks hint that Jack's next enemy will be different in a positive sense from his predecessors.
Hall's observation on Beck as a more nuanced villain already points to *Reacher* maybe at last learning its lesson about the creation of evil villains. Ritchson's appeal as Jack for much longer cannot be relied upon by the Amazon Prime Video. Still, pitting him against a more complex enemy might help him to be a better hero. This was partially the reason the *Reacher* season 2 heroes were quite tough to rally behind as they behaved more like vigilantes than the real good guys.
Beyond that, a better villain can provide far stronger finales. While season 1's last confrontation between Jack and his enemies wasn't as amazing as the rest of the year, season 2's ending turned out as a letdown. Beck simply isn't going to be another shallow bad guy, so Reacher season 3 has an opportunity to create something distinct and more interesting.
A new character feature is helping its villain to be better than his predecessors even before *Reacher* season 3 opens. The way Amazon Prime Video adapted Lee Child's best-known works has successfully sold Alan Ritchson as Jack Reacher's country-wandering, hobo. The actor has been really outstanding in the part, which helps to explain the popularity of the show. Not only is Ritchson physically accurate from the author's protagonist's description, but he also masterfully captures Jack's aloofness and other distinct qualities in print. This helps one to ignore other facets of *Reacher*.
*Reacher* season 1 was an instant hit upon its 2022 premiere, hence naturally a follow-up year was requested. Not to mention its degree of popularity, considering the sheer volume of books it is mining its stories from, it is not difficult to understand Amazon Prime Video wants to retain it on its roster for the foreseeable future. Said otherwise, *Reacher* season 2 fell short of the same caliber as its predecessor. Still, it was interesting for the platform to go with season 3, which will introduce Jack a fresh enemy.
Created by Amazon Prime Video, *Reacher* transforms Lee Child's Jack Reacher book series for live-action. Veteran Military Police Officer Jack Reacher is followed throughout the show as he investigates a hazardous plot in the made-up Georgian village of Margrave. Played by the tall Alan Ritchson, the titular hero cleans his name by working with Chief Detective Oscar Finlay (Malcolm Goodwin) and Officer Roscoe Conklin (Willa Fitzgerald), so saving Margrave from crime and corruption.
The show's popularity has spurred great excitement about its forthcoming third season. With a new enemy and additional adventures with the main characters of the show, fans should anticipate yet another gripping trip.
