The Acolyte is Expanding the Lightaber Boundaries
The Acolyte seems to have fresh and unusual as its motif. Viewers have not seen yet its setting, the High Republic, where the Jedi are at their best. This distinguishes the series from the other Disney+ productions, which have usually set in the period between the original and sequel trilogies. Apart from delving into a period of Star Wars not seen in live-action, the program is proving to be creative with its famous lightsabers.
Custom Lightsaber, a shoto blade, was created for Keen's young Padawan, Jecki Lon, per current reports. Although her height was the main factor used in making it, it may set her up as a strong Force user with maybe unique combat style. Though lightwipes were weaker than a normal lightsaber and had more restricted cutting capability, the weapon was efficient against the Forbidden Forms of the Sith, something that could prove to be valuable in The Acolyte. A purple lightwhip has also been suggested in The Acolyte trailers.
The Acolyte Creator Says a Brand-New Lightsaber Made for the Next Star Wars Series
The Acolyte producer Leslye Headland explains that a brand-new lightsaber was created for the forthcoming Star Wars series even while the wild lightwhip is already introduced in the program. Since the Disney+ drama takes place during the High Republic, some 50–100 years before the Skywalker Saga, it will be ushering a new era for fans. The new show will center the Jedi inquiry of enigmatic murders and the emergence of the Sith from the shadows. Leading actors in the Acolyte are Carrie-Anne Moss, Dafne Keen, Amandla Stenberg, and Lee Jung-jae; it will launch two episodes on June 4.
The Acolyte producer Headland reveals in an interview with Rotten Tomatoes that a fresh lightsaber was developed for the forthcoming Star Wars series. Look out the interview below: Headland begins by stating that the new lightsaber is something she wanted to work in a certain manner and that the weapon in issue isn't the lightwhip that has been hinted at earlier. The prop department informed her it wouldn't work when she first offered the idea to them. Headland refused to let it go, though, and her tenacity seemed to have paid off since the new lightsaber was finally produced.
The Acolyte: An Emerging New Era
The material for Star Wars' next show that has thus far been leaked already hints something different from the Skywalker Saga. The High Republic Era, shown in books, comics, games, audiobooks, and Disney+ TV episodes, marks the past and shapes the Star Wars galaxy going forward.
