House of the Dragon Season 2's Rotten Tomatoes score has been leaked and nearly identically matches season 1's. Inspired by George R. R. Martin's Fire & Blood, the successful Game of Thrones spin-off debuted in the summer of 2022 showing the Targaryen civil war's narrative including its beginnings, escalation points, and many casualties. House of the Dragon season 2, which follows a well-received season 1, is slated to launch later this month and picks up the story of people like Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy), Alicent (Olivia Cooke), and Daemon (Matt Smith).
Now showing on Rotten Tomatoes, House of the Dragon Season 2 has a great 92% based on 25 reviews as of right now. Although this score will very certainly change when more reviews are published, it presently comes barely short of season 1's 93%. It's not obvious how the audience score for season 2 will fare until the show starts broadcast.
Review of House of the Dragon season 2 mostly commend the show for many of the same reasons season 1 was appreciated. Strong writing covers the underlying character motivations, back-stabbings, and political maneuvers that make the search for power so fascinating on the sophomore outing. This is also the reason past Game of Thrones seasons were so much adored.
The House of the Dragon cast also gets to truly shine once more, same as in season 1. Season 2's lack of time leaps means that the action occurs firmly in real time, so allowing viewers to spend more time with D'Arcy's Rhaenyra and Cooke's Alicent as their interaction becomes more divisive. Reviews generally indicate that most characters are examined with more detail than in season 1; season 2 truly veers into the weeds on how everyone is handling the aftermath from the season 1 conclusion.

House of the Dragon has already heavily changed the book. Some quite convincing hypotheses suggest even larger fluctuations in season 2 and beyond. The way the show is evolving is absolutely intriguing.
The production design and action of the show have won praise. The manner it is developing excites the followers. Given the present response, it is sure to keep evolving as the show runs on.
Of course, House of the Dragon season 2's large set pieces have also drawn compliments, just like Game of Thrones before it has. Even if these major events of action might take some time to reach, they are well worth it when they occur since they provide the kind of spectacle viewers have come to know from the franchise. Though the first reviews clearly indicate HBO will be presenting another great season of entertainment, it remains to be seen how broad viewers will respond to House of the Dragon season 2.
