Born Again Fight Scene Promise Is Exactly What The Netflix Reboot Needs, Charlie Cox's Daredevil
Born Again star Charlie Cox talks on how the Marvel Cinematic Universe series will live up to the action in Netflix's Daredevil TV show. As Daredevil: Born Again will carry Cox portraying the venerable superhero, The Devil of Hell's Kitchen is going to play a bigger role than ever in the MCU chronology. Born Again season 1 ended a few months ago; post-production on the episodes set to broadcast in March 2025 is already under progress.
Although many narrative elements on the Daredevil: Born Again TV program remain under wraps, there will be a significant element carried over from Netflix's Daredevil series. Cox spoke at the Fan Expo Boston (via Collider) on events the MCU audience will be looking forward in the forthcoming Marvel release. One of them considered the highly praised action scenes in Netflix's Daredevil, Cox hinting that "those who are excited by [oners] will not be disappointed," having explained to viewers about the idea and what it implies:
How Oners Could Support Daredevil: Born Again Be As Good As The Original Netflix Show
The MCU fans made it very evident that they want the series to be as close as possible to Netflix's Daredevil TV show ever since it was revealed that Cox's character would take front stage. Though officially it won't be Daredevil season 4, Daredevil: Born Again is, in many respects, more or less an MCU sequel. Even if it is not a direct continuation, Daredevil: Born Again will benefit tremendously from this much attention on reproducing its motion.
From its legendary oners, which let the MCU not only go incredibly gritty but deep into the street-level concept, the action scenes were one of the fundamental elements of the Marvel-Netflix drama throughout every season of Daredevil. Daredevil: Born Again's action of going as far as to reflect the famous artistic decisions made here supports the premise that it can mimic the best parts of the show while still being its own thing, so appealing to both new and old audiences.
Daredevil: Born Again: Reb reboot Marvel Cinematic Universe
There several varieties of oners. A oner is a battle scene filmed shot devoid of [cuts.] Thus, there exist objects known as true oners. A true oner is therefore when it truly is one take and there is no editing, no morphing—that is, when you move the camera past something with a solid color—then you can technically then cut during the black of that. Thus, there is a moment when the entire screen is black as the camera passes past someone's black shirt, from which you can then sew a separate view. It appears to be a one-sided, yet it is not really.
Matt Murdock has his first show set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe following Charlie Cox's cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home and supporting part in She-Halk: Attorney at Law. Born Again, which runs eighteen episodes, acts as the spiritual successor to Netflix's three-season Daredevil series and shapes its characters to fit the MCU's core narrative while starting the superhero lawyer from fresh ground.
Daredevil: Born Again Fight Scenes Honoring the Netflix Legacy
This made it quite significant when it came out that Philip Silvera, Daredevil's stunt coordinator, had been hired to perform the same function for Born Again. One of the best things to come out of Daredevil: Born Again's creative change in 2023 since Marvel Studios seems to be totally committed to preserving the original series as much as possible, which apparently spans employing oners in the new show.
Having been a few years since Daredevil stopped running on Netflix, it will be interesting to watch how the new oners will be handled throughout Daredevil: Born Again and the other ways it aims to emulate the action-packed but also plot-based storyline of the original series. As Daredevil: Born Again is confirmed to premiere in March 2025, maybe it won't be too long until the first teaser releases to the public.
Daredevil: A Review of the Netflix Series
Born Again is resurrecting The Defenders Saga characters, and the series is ideal to feature Netflix and Marvel Studios street-level heroes. The Netflix series Daredevil redefining the superhero genre was a highly praised production. Examining the darker side of heroism, it dug into the difficult moral conundrums Matt Murdock, a blind attorney moonlighting as the vigilante Daredevil, faces. Fans were particularly drawn to the show's action scenes, especially its extended takes and amazing choreography. Daredevil was a gripping and fascinating show with its brutal realism and examination of ideas including justice, sacrifice, and the fight for atonement.
Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Puncher made up the gifted ensemble for the Daredevil Netflix series. The show's gripping performances, complex narratives, and ability to faithfully depict the spirit of the original Daredevil comics won it compliments.
