For quite a few reasons, the original It star joining the Welcome to Derry cast is pretty beneficial for the horror show. One such reason is the entITy's age, which makes it the only main character from the 2017 film from which an original cast member can reprising their part. The show is set in the 1960s, decades before the first film, which was out in 1989 following a prologue in 1988. Since they were born in the mid-1970s, none of the other main characters of the original film would even be alive during the prequel's era.
The fact that Pennywise's backstory has previously been discussed in It: Chapter Two makes Skarsgård's reappearance among the most significant factors helping Welcome to Derry more relevant. Though the precise origin suggested in the scene could have been a creation by the monster, IT centers on an old snapshot of a clown performed by Bill Skarsgård out of makeup. Should the show choose to investigate that potential narrative any more, the actor would have to be ready to re-port that character once more.
Bill Skarsgård, who will be recreating his original movie part as Pennywise the Clown, is cast in the forthcoming It Prequel program Welcome to Derry.
Welcome to Derry; Bill Skarsgård is scheduled to be returning. The actor, who has also acted in Barbarian, Boy Kills World, and The Crow, plays the title antagonist in the 2017 Stephen King adaption It and its sequel It: Chapter Two. The shapeshifting alien monster "It" most often takes the form Pennywise the Clown. Set to be a prehistory to the original duology, the forthcoming Welcome to Derry, yet under a working title, is a Max program scheduled for 2025.
Welcome to Derry will also feature Jovan Adepo, Chad Rook, Chris Chalk, Taylour Paige, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe.
Though it has been said that production for the program is wrapped, this is a really star-studded ensemble for the next Prequel and offers fans something to be excited about. With luck, the program will be an exciting addition to the It universe.
Bill Skarsgård will be back to reinterpret Pennywise in Welcome to Derry via Deadline. Apart from playing the legendary part, he will be executive producer of the production with Jason Fuchs, Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, and Roy Lee. Given he executive produced both Barbarian and Boy Kills World, this is in line with a recent trend toward a more active behind-the-scenes participation in his genre productions.
Finding an actor to represent Pennywise in 2017's It after Tim Curry turned out a legendary performance in the original 1990 It TV miniseries presented a difficult task already. Having the universally accepted modern version of the character returns helps to prevent any potential recasting issues, even if casting a third actor in the part so soon after the previous one may have been stretching their luck.
Welcome to Derry also avoids a great obstacle by returning Skarsgård. Finding an actor to represent Pennywise in 2017's It after Tim Curry dished up an unforgettable performance in the original 1990 It TV miniseries proved to be already a difficult task. Having the largely accepted present rendition of the character returns helps to avoid any potential recasting disputes since putting a third actor in the role so soon after the previous one could have been pushing their luck.
The comeback of Skarsgård is highly exciting and will make this even more awaited for series fans. Given its 1960s backdrop, the new show should be fascinating to see what it will feature.
