Showrunner says the leads from Bridgerton Season 5 and 6 have been discussed.
Jess Brownell, the showrunner for Bridgerton, says she and her crew have considered the protagonists for every season and have broad ideas for the program up to Season 6. Recently completing season 3 on Netflix, the Regency era drama has already been approved for season 4. For every season, one of Julia Quinn's books—which she penned one for each of the eight Bridgerton siblings—fits. The program hasn't matched the sequence of the books, though, hence it remains a mystery whose sibling each season will address.
Brownell disclosed in an interview with Variety that she and her colleagues have ideas of who will lead them all and that their plans extend up to Bridgerton Season 6. She knows the upcoming lead since the fourth Bridgerton season is under production already. Brownell stated that executive producer Shonda Rhimes and she had started talking about who should be next. She underlined that Rhimes and she are the only people engaged in these conversations thus their thoughts for the new Leads may differ. Look at her comment down below:
Three strong candidates exist already for the next Bridgerton lead.
Brownell keeps quiet about the following three Bridgerton Leads, but the program might have hinted to their names earlier. Among them Benedict (Luke Thompson) is almost certain. His story is overdue since he's the second-oldest son and his book was ignored to highlight Colin (Luke Newton) and Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) in season 3. Season 3 also subtly hinted to an approaching masquerade ball, the scene for the start of Benedict's romance in the books. Many speculate he is the Bridgerton season 4 lead given the ball's verified arrival.
Still, the next lead is yet unknown. The programme also made indications suggesting Eloise (Claudia Jessie) or Francesca (Hannah Dodd). At the end of season three of Bridgerton, Francesca surreptitiously marries John Stirling (victor alli) and gets ready to relocate to Scotland with him. In the books, Francesca's marriage to John sets her on the road toward her final love with Michael Stirling. The show's gender-swapped Michaela Stirling (Masali Baduza) teases a developing gay romance for Francesca. Eloise, meantime, offered to travel with Francesca on her new path. The significant life transition could find expression in Eloise's narrative. Although Bridgerton is suggesting change for Eloise, it has already started the storylines of Francesca and Benedict, hence it is quite likely that they are the two of the three Leads. Though Eloise appears like the most natural third lead, her lack of interest in romance could cause the show to address Gregory (Will Tilston) or Hyacinth (Florence Hunt). Which siblings finally take front stage will only become known with time.
Plans and conjecture for Season 5 and 6 of Bridgerton
In an interview with Variety, Bridgerton Showrunner Jess Brownell said that she and her team have broad ideas for the show up to season 6 including the leaders of every season. She withheld any names, but the show has dropped indications pointing to Benedict, Eloise, or Francesca as possible leads. Season 4's greenlight for the show already exists; seasons 5 and 6 are still under development. The popularity of the book series and the success of the television imply that more Bridgerton is much sought for.
