Recently hinted at as Sean Townsend in the dark comedy A Simple Favor, Henry Golding said that the sequel, A Simple Favor 2, will be even more crazy than its predecessor. Speaking with Variety, Golding called the script "bananas" and said the "craziness has just blown out."
Based on Darcey Bell's 2017 book, Paul Feig's first A Simple Favor told the tale of Stephanie Smothers (Anna Kendrick), a single mother who befriended Blake Lively's enigmatic and chic fashion blogger Emily Nelson. Stephanie finds herself caught in a web of secrets, lies, and danger when Emily vanishes without warning.
Although specifics on A Simple Favor 2's storyline are yet unknown, Golding's remarks imply that the sequel will draw on the dark humor and erratic turns of the first movie. The original movie left viewers with many unresolved issues, including Emily's relationship with Sean and the actual nature of her disappearance.
Emily is remarrying in Italy in the sequel, and the returning actors from the first movie imply that the relationships between the characters to the original tale will be investigated more.
