Acting Loki in the MCU, Tom Hiddleston has offered a different viewpoint on Loki's emotional conclusion: "His broken soul has partially healed." Loki Season 2, which ran in the Fall of 2023, gave Loki's MCU narrative a definitive ending as he at last aligned with his goal and proved the scope of his powers among the MCU's gods. Loki currently oversees making sure free will rules the MCU's Multiverse. As he sits somewhere outside of time. But this will unavoidably open the path for Kang's sinister schemes throughout the MCU's multiverse.
In a recent interview with Backstage Magazine, Tom Hiddleston delved deeply into his legendary MCU character and claimed that Loki's damaged soul was somewhat restored. After considering Loki's two deaths in the MCU and his honest surprise at being asked to return for the historic solo show, Hiddleston spoke on how Loki's MCU path has brought him full circle, referencing Loki's pursuit and promise of a kingdom that does not resemble what he might have expected but that exactly suits his arc. The whole quote is below:
In Season 2 Loki was at his best, at last acknowledging his need for love and companionship and fighting valiantly to keep them in his new life within the TVA. Unlike the one seen in The Avengers, whose gloomy ideas drove him to mercilessly murder innocent people to satiate his megalomania, this Loki edition is far from In Thor: The Dark World and onwards, he did go through a redemptive arc; nevertheless, it sad ended with his heroic death in Avengers: Endgame.
Loki might be able to fulfill this job before Avengers: Secret Wars as the Beyonders—who live beyond of time in Marvel Comics—have not yet been revealed.
"I think it seems redemptive since his damaged soul is partially healed; you realize that this guy, capable of love, has taken a decision from and for love...Loki is seated on a sort of throne at the end of Season 2; but, it is not in the form he expected, and there is no grandeur in it," Hiddleston says. He is alone; there is a sort of weight. He has to stay there without his buddies even if he is doing it for them. I felt great emotional resonance in the poetic melancholy there.
From WandaVision to She-Hulk, from Loki to Ms. Marvel, the Disney+ TV shows in the MCU have been hits—but how do they stack against one another? This was a real reversal of expectations as Loki was so often shown as playing second fiddle to his more well-known and presumably more powerful brother. Unlike anything that could have been imagined for Earth-616's Loki, seeing him sacrifice all for the sake of countless Multiverse residents, grab hold and restore timelines, and present himself as a real God of Stories was like nothing else. His new status makes him almost essential to the whole Multiverse Saga, since Loki's capacity to preserve timestreams determines the MCU's fate now.
Loki finds the truth of time and space while escaping from another timeline and in his own series learns about the lives of his predecessor. Loki grudgingly participates in the Time Variance Authority (TVA), an interdimensional governing body that maintains time in line in the program. Helping the TVA locate someone more dangerous than himself—another Loki—on the chopping block gives Loki a chance to save himself.
Expanding the MCU into the Multiverse Saga has been fascinating, and the show offers a fresh viewpoint on the time and space of the MCU. It is quite likely to offer further chances to investigate the intricate network of the Marvel multiverse.

Neither was the Loki that ran afoul of the TVA in Loki season one. It is easy to ignore that this was the same Loki who had yet to atone for his own benefit, because the show followed Avengers: Endgame. Still, the show highlighted Loki's natural qualities, quickly turning him into a beloved TVA hero in a few episodes, and made him the most powerful MCU character only one season later.
