Shrek 5: Could This Be the Best Shrek Movie Ever?

Shrek 5: A Possible Reboot for an Aging but Beloved Franchise

The news of Shrek 5 has got the internet buzzing! You're probably wondering if we're really going back to that green ogre after all these years. Seriously, the last movie dropped back in 2010, making Shrek 5 a whopping 16 years later! To put that in perspective, think back to your middle school days, or what you were watching on television then! Was it Disney+? Maybe you were watching The Fresh Prince. Either way, it's been a while.

Now, you'd think making a new Shrek movie after such a long wait, could feel kind of unnecessary or a total disaster waiting to happen. And it wouldn't be surprising if fans were a little hesitant, especially after "Shrek Forever After" which got a kind of "meh" score on Rotten Tomatoes! But something crazy happened - DreamWorks just pulled off this epic movie - "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish", and it's a major reason to feel like "Shrek 5" has got a fighting chance!

A Return To Fairy Tale Land

Puss in Boots? You know, that suave kitty from the "Shrek" world, he's actually had quite the long and complicated career path, too. There were a few missteps and a kind of forgettable solo outing for Puss. But "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish" was a wild success! Not just some animated film. This movie got super good reviews and brought everyone's hearts back to those charming, fairytale characters! You could argue this is the one to actually reboot the whole franchise.

Remember, those "Shrek" films - they've got a whole lot of fans! Some people still prefer the first two. But this one just proves it’s possible to give the franchise a fresh spin without losing what made it great – that signature humor and a little heart. If Shrek 5 comes to be, it can be like that sequel they never actually expected, but everyone secretly hopes for.

Why Shrek 5 Could Work

You know what the best part about "The Last Wish" is? It’s an awesome visual masterpiece! That artwork style, those bright colours - it just pops! So if DreamWorks wants to really take things to a new level for Shrek 5, it's a pretty simple solution: borrow from that “Last Wish” style! Maybe we’ll get a whole lot of funny green ogres in new, exciting ways, or maybe the "Shrek" world just needs a refresh on how it’s animated! Who knows! And we haven't even mentioned those "Last Wish" cameos! It might open up a chance for all of the OG "Shrek" crew - think of a Fiona-centric storyline or the return of those villains that just keep trying to ruin everything for Shrek.

And let's not forget those villains - a really good bad guy is vital! There's no way "Shrek 5" is going to live up to that, without a fantastic, new villain to threaten Shrek and everyone in those fairytale lands. They could even take a hint from "The Last Wish" where the wolf is one of those antagonists that's just different enough from the traditional fairytale bad guys, while still being super entertaining. If DreamWorks gets this right, Shrek could be ready to kick some serious villain ass!

Shrek 5 – A Possible Sequel to Puss In Boots: The Last Wish?

What will the plot for Shrek 5 actually look like? We haven't got any info on this just yet. Some rumors say it'll have something to do with the world that Puss In Boots: The Last Wish set up, almost like it's the direct sequel. Maybe Puss even makes a special appearance or even helps "Shrek" deal with whatever those crazy fairy tale shenanigans have cooking for him! It could totally connect with some of that lore about Shrek meeting Puss! It would be crazy-cool!

If those stories make their way to the big screen, fans are going to go bonkers. This could really turn those OG "Shrek" fans back into super excited and passionate viewers. Maybe Dreamworks should put more of these “Shrek”-themed adventures into play!

Could This Be the Best Shrek 5 Ever?

If the studio follows in the footsteps of "The Last Wish," we’re in for an adventure unlike any Shrek fans have ever seen before. If those first two films had that perfect balance of laughs and touching moments - the kind that stuck with viewers even long after the movie ended - then we could actually see a comeback for the “Shrek” saga. But we need something that hits hard and shows us that Shrek still has those great fairytale stories to tell! It's more than a fun cartoon. It's a whole lot of memories. So maybe it’s possible.

With that kind of passion and creative fire, DreamWorks could give us a “Shrek 5” that is more than just another animated film. We might get that heartwarming fairytale tale everyone’s been waiting for. Now if those stars would get back together, and if we can finally hear the news about that "Shrek 5" release date - we are ready! Who’s excited? This has the potential to be more than just a good movie. We're looking forward to more hilarious ogre adventures in the fairytale lands, especially if they get the music right this time! What kind of movie experience could "Shrek 5" bring about? Let’s hope it is an amazing return!
