Homelander's Deaths Clearly Relate to His Character
Both of these Deaths directly allude to Homelander in *The Boys*, both the TV and comic forms. One of Homelander's defining tales is when he and Queen Maeve try to save a jet from terrorists only to unintentionally cause the controls to be destroyed, therefore forcing them to surrender the entire aircraft or otherwise lose face. This incident underlined even more how Homelander poses as a superhero; his image and popularity are more crucial, and he is ready to let others die to keep them.
Regarding his thermal vision, this is merely an allusion to the several times Homelander melted his adversaries, including bisecting a terrorist aiming for him. He has exploited this power several times in different ways, including causing individuals to explode. Those in *The Boys* who are equivalent to him in power and durability—such as Stormfront, Soldier Boy, or in the most current season, Billy Butcher, when he acquired Temp V and gained superpowers—are the only ones who can somewhat oppose it.
The most brutal death is that of a new Mortal Kombat character.
After its September 2023 premiere, *Mortal Kombat 1's Kombat Pack has consistently produced fresh material; the most recent addition is a horrific Fatality. The official gameplay teaser for Homelander, the forthcoming DLC character, for *Mortal Kombat 1* has released, and the new character's fatalities are the main highlight.
Although all *Mortal Kombat* Deaths are terrible, as is their nature, the ones for Homelander come out as especially cruel yet still consistent with his character. Homelander uses his first Fatality on Liu Kang in a clip from the teaser shared by DiscussingFilm on X (previously Twitter) - spliced from the whole Mortal Kombat YouTube channel. Liu Kang is launched into the air and subsequently splatters over the front of a passenger plane. Then homelander releases him, only to toss him in the engine of the ship.
Gameplay of Homelander in *Mortal Kombat 1*
Homelander's full gameplay teaser in *Mortal Kombat 1* plays to the camera in key moments and shows him employing simple motions to defeat enemies. Though it seems odd, that fits his nature. Homelander is not a trained warrior unlike figures like Peacemaker, Omni-Man, or his inspiration in Superman. Most of his battles he wins using intimidation and raw force instead.
Still, Homelander will be accessible on June 4 under early access in *Mortal Kombat 1*. Created at NetherRealm Studios and publisher Warner Bros. Entertainment, *Mortal Kombat 1* is a fighting game. With Liu Kang filling the position of the new god defender of Earthrealm, the title will be the twelfth major chapter in the *Mortal Kombat* brand and function as both a reboot and a continuation of *Mortal Kombat 11*.
Second Death in Homelander
Sub-Zero suffers the second fatality, although Homelander keeps it understated by having the head burst of the character utilizing his heat vision. Homelander then splits the remaining body of Sub-Zero in two with his heat vision, adding to the intensity of the movement.
