Hit-monkey's animated series has become well-known for its original mix of action, dark humor, and gripping vengeance narrative. The show centers on a Japanese snow monkey, taught to be an assassin following the murder of his family by a vicious crime lord. Hit-Monkey exists in the Marvel universe but not in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and has an other world.
The show's creators, Will Speck and Josh Gordon, have discussed the possibility of their character straying into the MCU with the arrival of Hit-monkey season 2. Marvel has been helpful for the show's development, they have stressed, but they are glad to let Hit-Monkey exist in its own "weird little universe."
Although they admit that a crossover is feasible, in a bigger MCU project it could be more of a cameo or a minor role. Though they are open to the concept, Speck and Gordon do not wish to press it. They are savoring the liberty to craft a narrative unconstrained by the accepted MCU canon.
The multiverse offers Hit-Monkey a special chance to intersect the MCU. Major storyline spanning several MCU projects, The Multiverse Saga is scheduled to finish with Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027. A Hit-Monkey cameo would find the perfect scene in this event.
Hit-Monkey might be a great addition to a team shot during a big battle scene, much as Howard the Duck's look in Avengers: Endgame is. Since the multiverse would naturally fit his existence, this would call for little justification. Avengers: Secret Wars is expected to have characters from many worlds, thus including a character from an animated project like Hit-Monkey would give the movie an original touch.
The Possibilities of Hit-Monkey Cameos
Though Hit-Monkey might show up in Avengers: Secret Wars, other choices abound. Though it is doubtful now, he could have had a perfect cameo in Deadpool and Amp; Wolverine. Marvel keeps many specifics under wraps about the cast of the film, thus there is still a chance he would show up.
Hit-Monkey might also show up quickly in a future Guardians of the Galaxy movie. For one scene, he could engage with the team either developing a quick friendship or turning into Rocket Raccoon's enemy. The Guardians would most certainly leave him behind, raising interesting issues about whether they would cross paths once more.
Among the Marvel landscape, Hit-Monkey is unique. Compared to most other MCU projects, this one has a darker, more adult tone. Offering a different viewpoint on the superhero genre, it investigates themes of violence, retribution, and the fallout from decisions.
Fans can keep following the exploits of the assassin monkey with Hit-Monkey season 2 now on Hulu. Hulu The creators are happy to let their "weird little corner" of the Marvel universe blossom even though a crossover with the MCU seems likely. The show is a singular addition to the Marvel scene since its original mix of action, humor, and pathos still enthralls viewers.
