Venom: Let There Be Carnage Soundtrack: A Killer Mix of Classics and New Hits!
Venom: The Last Dance, the final chapter in Sony’s Venom trilogy, brings back Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom in an action-packed adventure. This movie’s something special; it completely nails those things people loved – the humor, Eddie and Venom’s amazing chemistry, the thrill. But there’s more. The soundtrack in The Last Dance is awesome! This one is exceptionally well-designed, unlike its prior installments. It totally rocks this unexpected blend of multiple genres, which features old rock classics, modern bops, and other very unexpected but enjoyable selections.
Unlike its predecessors that made use of existing, released tracks, or had merely that iconic Eminem “Venom” song from the first installment, this one features an unexpectedly unique tracklist; not to mention an overall improvement compared to its previous entries, a choice easily defensible, when we see how successful that movie was, a surprising turn in direction that helped push those original and more recognizable songs toward that key spotlight.
Dan Deacon created that epic score; which perfectly blends with some great songs. Let’s break down each track – and its moment in the film!
This classic Queen track accompanies Eddie's wild ride on the Venom-controlled horse! That amazing speed-enhanced mode, one easily forgotten, is also later used in that hilarious sequence when Venom jumps across multiple environments! This particular selection fits very nicely with the intensity of those action moments.
Rhys Ifans' Martin and family are totally into aliens and the cosmic. So this one totally matches; during that road trip to Vegas this David Bowie classic appears with a fun acoustic family rendition (Venom even joins in for the vocals)! It showcases Venom’s softer side and the movie’s subtle humor.
Heard as they hit Vegas, and briefly when Martin says goodbye to Eddie, this is very much about that wild Eddie and Venom journey and aligns strongly with the thematic arc in the movie’s own story. It was used in trailers, perfectly highlighting its importance.
This classic plays during Venom’s totally unexpected dance-off with Mrs. Chen! That scene disregards those previously mentioned limitations; the symbiote fully takes over Eddie’s body. It shows that the fun is completely worth breaking that rule; resulting in those unexpected but thoroughly enjoyed scenes that made it one of the top moments in this sequel. Their epic dance sets this hilarious moment into action, highlighting those themes of unexpectedly enjoying moments with humanity, creating some genuinely laugh-out-loud hilarious scenes for the film.
Playing as Eddie walks the streets; those key moments showing him reminiscing with his Symbiote friend before those major events transpired that ultimately ended that amazing symbiote/host bond permanently. This song provides both the background and emotional depth, making the key farewell that occurs truly affecting, emphasizing those key details of shared moments between them and a great blend of those past moments that make viewers nostalgic over their amazing symbiotic bond. It’s beautifully melancholy.
An original track by Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine) and grandson, playing during the credits, complete with Venomized animals; the ending is an interesting track. It’s unique.
A very surprising and surprisingly appropriate post-credit track. This one emphasizes that troubled relationship between Eddie and Venom, even if that complex dynamic really worked.
No official Venom: The Last Dance soundtrack exists yet, however Dan Deacon’s amazing score, and also the Tom Morello and grandson track, can be found through many different avenues: Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, YouTube Music, and Pandora. Creating your own playlist containing the remainder is certainly doable too!
Venom: The Last Dance might be the last installment, but it sure made this particular entry within the trilogy something really special, going above and beyond the call to create one of the best entries, highlighting some of the best features possible. And this great soundtrack – a brilliant mix of genres, and with that very specific nostalgic selection; perfectly blending into moments with the storyline; showcasing both old and newer classics.
Whether it is those awesome old hits that create intense action scenes and emotional moments or its use of newly written songs that encapsulate both the thrills, and quieter moments within its plot, this excellent soundtrack; a surprisingly intense, very much improved blend compared to its previous installments; helped propel The Last Dance to its final triumphant standing!
