James Gunn has responded to recent speculations regarding the timing of Matt Reeves' The Batman 2 and 3 filming with Robert Pattinson. One of DC Studios' Elseworlds properties is ongoing world expansion as Gunn's Dc Universe is still under construction. Apart from the later this year arrival of The Penguin TV show on Max, Reeves is also working on The Batman - Part II.
Instagram user kemper 2004 caught the notice of DC Studio co-CEO regarding a fresh The Batman - Part II rumor, even as Vigilante, who will be returning for Peacemaker season 2, was celebrating her DC Comics debut. According to rumors, The Batman - Part II and The Batman 3 would be shot back-to-back in 2025, but Gunn refuted any validity to this.
Given the Hollywood 2023 strikes, filming was unable to begin even though The Batman - Part II was scheduled to begin main filming in November 2023. Warner Bros. Discovery and DC Studios thus decided to postpone The Batman - Part II to 2026 due of this and the absence of a finalized screenplay. This will enable Reeves and his crew to properly complete pre-production on The Batman - Part II.
Although DC Studios and Warner Bros. Discovery have not yet confirmed it, a March 2024 analysis of The Batman - Part II predicted cameras would start filming in April 2025. Apart from its primary actor, Robert Pattinson, and Jeffrey Wright (James Gordon), it is yet unknown which other The Batman cast members will be returning for the sequel. Andy Serkis's Alfred Pennyworth most likely to resurfaced for The Batman - Part II at least.
Batman has some interesting films ahead of him; James Gunn's new Dc Universe will feature the Dark Knight in a significant part, and more in the near future.
Gunn's DC Universe is growing, but it's obvious the studio has major ideas for the Caped Crusader. The Batman - Part II is only the start of the journey the character is about to travel. Whether it covers a The Batman 3 or a fresh Batman look in Gunn's DC Universe is still to be seen.

With The Batman - Part II, Matt Reeves's DC series is set for expansion; today, James Gunn addresses fresh production rumors about The Batman 3. One of DC Studios' Elseworlds creations is under ongoing world growth while Gunn's DC Universe is still under construction. It's important to consider that Warner Bros. Discovery and DC Studios did not formally announce The Batman 3 at the time the narrative was written. An announcement on The Batman 3 might only come until The Batman - Part II has been out since the choice might be based on its box office and critical reception.
Future of the franchise depends on The Batman - Part II's popularity. Should the film become popular, Warner Bros. Discovery and DC Studios most certainly will approve The Batman 3. Should it fall short, though, the franchise might be put on wait.
