Everything About The Acolyte Made Her New Sith Lord Terrifying
As it introduces The Master, the fourth Acolyte episode, "Day," progressively induces fear. Mae discovers her Wookiee Jedi Master Kelnacca dead in her house on Khofar and knows her Master is close as the backdrop sunshine dimensiveness. The Master enters from the shadows like a spectre, landing behind Osha and sparking his red-bladed lightsaber as a squad of Jedi try to capture Mae. Then the Jedi are sent flying with simple use of the evil side of the Force.
Because The Master falls from the canopy as though he is flying, the scenario really recalls a Force power connected with Tartakovsky's Star Wars: Clone Wars. Count Dooku employed this ability in the cartoon series, and seeing it live-action is exhilarating. The Sith indeed feels like a real phantom or spirit from this.
Surely, a villain so strong has to be a Sith Lord?
The Master is most certainly a Sith Lord given the weight of his look and data from past episodes. Red-bladed lightsabers are not exclusively used by Sith in both the present Star Wars canon and the old Legends timeline. While certain Knights of Ren members and several prominent unaffiliated fallen Jedi carry such weapons, the red-bladed lightsaber is the trademark weapon of the Sith Lords. More importantly still, The Master's agent Qimir hinted to a strong link by referencing the Sith Code's first statement in The Acolyte episode 2.
Should The Master be a Sith Lord, the Jedi have to keep his existence under secret from the rest of the Jedi Order; else, The Acolyte would contradict the events of the prequel trilogy. Many or all of the contingent of Jedi will probably die given The Master's weapon and the pure force he unleashed on the Jedi to maintain the silence of the Sith Order. Following a somewhat eerie opening, this likely Sith could keep surprising viewers in the following episode of The Acolyte.

Among the toughest opponents in the Star Wars series are Sith Lords, especially those of Darth Bane's dynasty. They usually get the most interesting entrances; first appearance of Darth Maul and boarding of the Tantive IV are remarkable. Even those connected to the Siith, including General Grievous, often had amazing initial looks; Grievous crushed Padawans in Genndy Tartakovsky's Star Wars: Clone Wars. In his appropriate introduction in The Acolyte, the Master does likewise.
