Minions 3: Most recent news
You heard correctly; Minions 3 is scheduled formally! Universal and Illumination have already revealed that a third Minions prequel is in development even while we wait for Despicable Me 4 to open theatres in July 2024. And get this: June 30, 2027 is scheduled release date! Talk about keeping the franchise train under running order!
Even better is Brian Lynch, the original Minions movie writer, returning to pen the script for this one. Pierre Coffin is also returning to the director's chair having helmeditated every Despicable Me and Minions film and voices the Minions. We should thus anticipate more of that wild, funny minion anarchy!
Three Release Date Minions
Minions 3 is slated to be a summer release, same as the first two Minions films. June 30, 2027 is when it will open theatres. Hey, we have time to get excited since that is still some years away!
Minions three cast
Though we still have a lot to learn about the story, we can conjecture who might be returning. Steve Carell, portraying young Gru, is absolutely guaranteed. Pierre Coffin will be also expressing the Minions, of course. Alan Arkin's Wild Knuckles character may also make a comeback. We last saw him riding off with Gru in Minions: The Rise of Gru, thus it's likely they would have more adventures together. Additionally maybe we will see some well-known personalities like Steve Coogan and Will Arnett, who have spent some time in the Despicable Me universe!
Minions three story details
The Minions 3 narrative still begs questions. There are a few things that might, however, occur. The film might center Gru and Wild Knuckles on a fresh adventure—perhaps even one involving a more powerful, badder villain.
Another likelihood is that the film brings the Minions closer to the events of the original Despicable Me films. Recall that Gru is shown a spaceship by Dr. Nefario in Minions: The Rise of Gru that resembles the one from the first Despicable Me film in the middle of credits scene. Minions 3 might thus help to close the prequel's gap with the original series. That would be quite fantastic!
