Although the Paramount+ comeback is essentially a continuation of the CBS project, it has made some notable alterations from its predecessor mostly in terms of its storytelling technique. This means that Messer has a lot of historical material for both personal and professional situations; based on her quoted comment, they are doing this for Brewster's character this next year. That said, *Criminal Minds: Evolution* season 2 must transcend Prentiss's position as the BAU chief and FBI member, which has dominated her recovery narrative thus far.
The extended narrative structure of *Criminal Minds: Evolution* allows the profiler's personal life to be woven with what is happening with their cases. For David Rossi in season one, who struggled with the death of his wife, Krystall, at the height of the worldwide epidemic, it was the case. The same is true for Tara Lewis and Penelope Garcia, whose respective romantic interests interfered more with their BAU employment. Prentiss's dynamic character suffers from a disservice since she has not yet had any form of arc outside of her employment. Her background is fascinating.
Showrunner Erica Messer says Emily Prentiss's *Criminal Minds: Evolution* season 2 arc will have links to her history. Although Paget Brewster is not a founding cast member of the popular CBS procedural, she is part of the core ensemble most intimately linked with the program. Originally a team player, Prentiss was finally elevated to BAU chief following Aaron Hotchner's untimely death. She is still leading the FBI's special unit now as they explore the Gold Star riddle in *Criminal Minds: Evolution* season 2.
Messer teases Prentiss's tale in the next year for the BAU in *Criminal Minds: Evolution* season 2. Although she doesn't get into specifics, the showrunner adds in a new TVLine interview that the death of Deputy Director Bailey and the growing investigation involving Gold Star would reference Prentiss's "clandestine past." Based on Messer's quotation, though, the sophomore year of the procedural might only look at Prentiss's life upon her return home. Though Brian Garrity, who stars in *Criminal Minds: Evolution* first appears in the original series, it is unknown if he will be a friend or enemy in her life. Still, his comeback to the show is definitely odd timing, and it will most surely add significant dimensions to Prentiss' most recent storyline.

Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler, Adam Rodriguez, and Paget Brewster. As a season-long guest star, Zach Gilford adds to the vibrant ensemble.
On its first run, the show drew a lot of viewers. This was a long-lasting phenomenon thanks in great part to the show's intriguing story, superb character development, and gifted ensemble. The most amazing feature of the show is its ability to probe human nature and the sinister corners of the mind.
She acts! Rossi was in a rather bad state last season, suffering from grief-induced depression and turned workaholic. He sort of returned to his former methods of operation, independent and not depending on the team. You discover that in these two weeks [Prentiss] has sort of veered down the road of "I'm putting these puzzle pieces together and I don't want to tell the team about it yet." One, as I want nobody else to pass away. Although I know Doug Bailey's death wasn't exactly my fault, it wasn't quite not my responsibility. She is somewhat survivor's remorse over, "Was there anything I could have done to stop him from going to talk face-to-face with Voit?" She is suffering with that rather a lot. Deeper she explores all of this, the more complex the network gets.
And to have [neighbor] Brian Garrity (guest star Paul F. Tompkins) even saying names and code terms when there's no reason this person should have any knowledge what this is – How the hell does he know this stuff? It's a tiny homage to the Emily Prentiss of old, with a somewhat secret past. Her character seems to be hinting at that somewhat. Rossi has his own trauma from being a victim of Elias Voit's, hence she did not exchange with him as they both have a lot going on.
