Jury Duty: A Cast Manual for the Performers and Characters
Among the most unusual groups of actors on a contemporary television production is Jury Duty's ensemble. The Office executive producers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky co-created the Amazon Freevee comedy program, which debuted on April 7, 2023, having had formerly collaborated on the sitcom SMILF. The idea of the series was to turn a prank show into a full-on longform comedy with a loosely written mock trial taking place in front of a participant ignorant of the fact his jury duty was fictitious.
Most of the stars portraying the other jurors and the participants in the trial were performers who wouldn't necessarily be familiar to an ordinary Joe, therefore preserving the hoax at the center of the Jury Duty show. Though they have other credits under their belts in different humorous properties both on big and small screens, they are essentially accomplished performers in comedy and improvisation. The program also managed to have a central name participate by having a big Hollywood personality represent himself as one of the jurors.
Herself, Ronald Gladden, Juror #6
Actor Ronald Gladden, from Wallowa, Oregon before migrating to San Diego, technically received his big break with the Amazon Freevee series since he was not an actor before showing up on the show. Working in construction at the time, he thought he was part of a true documentary on jury service. Gladden signed a two-year contract with Amazon MGM Studios, hence even if it is unknown whether Jury Duty season 2 will ever take place, Gladden will probably continue his achievement with onscreen appearances in other capacities.
Character: Ron Gladden showed himself for jury duty. Believing he was a real juror on a particularly crazy court case being shot by a documentary crew, he was the target of the show's complex hoax. He knew the trial was running a script, hence the performers had to create fresh scenes depending on his responses to particular events.
James Marsden as James Marsley, Juror #14
James Marsden was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and got his big breakthrough starring Scott Summers, popularly known as Cyclops, in the X-Men films following several early teen parts. Over the years, he has had several more long-running franchise roles, notably starring as Prince Edward in the Enchanted films and Tom Wachowski in the Sonic the Hedgehog movies. James Marsden's films taken all combined have brought in more than $4.5 billion at the global box office. For his part in Jury Duty, the performer also received an Emmy nomination.
James Marsden portrayed James Marsden on jury duty. Marsden was in on the joke and was presenting a fictitious version of herself, improvising along with the other cast members unlike Ronald Gladden, who showed himself. One character feature that found its way into certain pivotal comic events was his Hollywood acting background with significant title experience.

Jury Duty: A Hilarious and Unexpected Comedy
Jury Duty is a comedy/documentary series created for Amazon Freevee that explores the inner workings of the American Judicial system - with a twist. The show follows a unique format where a fake court case is created, with the entire experience controlled from inside and outside of the courtroom, and everyone is in on it except for a single juror. The show explores the fictional case through the perspective of the singular outlying juror.
